How To Resize And Adjust A Metal Watch Band

Here is how to resize a metal watch band. When you buy a watch with a metal band, you will probably need to remove a link or two for it to fit properly around your wrist. This video shows you how to resize and adjust a metal watch band. The resizing links are marked with arrows. Push the pin out of the resizing link in the direction of the arrow with a paper clip to remove the link. Remove the proper number of links for the watch to fit on your wrist, and you have learned how to resize and adjust your metal watch band.

Ha! I found this video with a simple search for "How to resize watch band" and what's crazy is, I'm almost certain that's the exact same watch I bought! What are the chances?!!! Thanks for the video. Thanks a bunch for cluing me into how to do this. Now - a couple of things I discovered:   a small vise is super useful for this, as it can hold the metal band in place while you aim and tap the knockout wire.  Place a cloth across the opening of the vise and press it into the opening a bit - this will protect the band from scratching AND will catch the pin if you drive it too far out.  A small pair of pliers (vise-grip pliers even better) are useful for pulling the pin out the rest of the way; and for starting the pin back in the hole again. When putting the band back together, be sure you don't get it "inside out"!!  (guess who did that the first time...)

I might add that if you are going to take out 2 links that you should do one from 1 side and one from the other side, so that the band is even... makes for a better fit and feel. Nice demo and ya save us all a bunch of money with hints like this!!!! (first again)

The watch box said "self adjusting strap" but neither did it automatically sense my wrist size and even in spite of asking it to adjust many times, it didnt do it.
