Social security recipients are paid regardless of where they live. Would be nice if Medicare would just pay overseas recipients a fixed amount on a regular basis just like Social security. If the cost medical services is below the fixed amount, then recipients can keep the diff. Otherwise the recipients will be responsible for the diff. No need to process claims which greatly reduces fraud and paperworks. US usually has higher medical cost than most countries. This will allow Americans to retire wherever they want to.🙂

if Medicare would cover my surgery in Thailand which is much cheaper i would not have to fly back to the States for the operation. it would save the U.S. taxpayer millions.

If u have Medicare and use Kaiser plan, Kaiser will reimburse you for up to 6 months. Then u go back to USA and then return and get another 6 months. One person asked Kaiser if he lived overseas would they get reimbursed without returning to the USA, and kaiser told him they are not sure.

If I stay in a country with a national health insurance sysyem and am covered from that after age 65, how does Medicare enrollment requirement after age 65 kick in waive the requirement until my return to the US?

If you have a F, G or N supplement and you take 2 or more 60 day foreign trips per year, are you covered for each trip or only 60 days/year?. Specifically, can I take my boat to the Caribbean or Bahamas, stay for 60 days, return to the US briefly and touch American soil, then fly back to the foreign countries and restart another 60 day trip and be covered again for the next 60 days? What if we have moved permanently it's costing me over 700 dollars just for supplement for me and wife but would like to have coverage in case of medical problem would basic mediacare a and b be enough to maintain. That alone is 80/20 coverage I thought
