Get the travel insurance if going overseas. It’s a small amount compared to the monies one pays to travel overseas. An evacuation flight costs a huge amount of money.

Hi, thanks for the video. I am aware that there is the $250 annual deductible and $50, 000 cap for Medigap plant like under Part G. But you said two things I was told was not the case by several HMO and PPO companies I checked with when inquiring about their Advantage plans. First off, I read their Evidence of Coverage and read they provide worldwide coverage for 6 months for some, a year for others. I did not see the 60 days you mentioned. So maybe this is only for Medigap, but the private Advantage carrier can elect to do more? Or? Please explain to help me understand. Also, I was told by agent reps that the $250 and $50, 000 do not apply to Advantage plans. At least, they said their policies were silent on the issue as far as they could see, so the said the regular limits applied. Is this true or not? Big thanks for answering a tough question. I'm sure this comes up rarely.

why won't congress act to allow Medicare to be accepted overseas. it would save the U.S. taxpayers millions. is it the AMA lobby? why?

It would cost them a lot less money to pay for care in many other countries. It's completely illogical not to continue coverage considered we earned it just like we earned our social security.
