These Two Translations Are Perfect Together!

While one of these translations should absolutely be no surprise, you will never guess what translation in my opinion is the perfect complement to the NKJV!

Tim is absolutely the finest Bible reviewer on YouTube. Smart, pastoral, well informed, studied, and factual. He not only gives the makeup of the Bible’s he reviews (cover, paper, binding, print, etc) but as in this video, he’s fearless on giving tremendous historical information and translation content. As a pastor and student of the Word for 47 years his work here is so appreciated!

Blessings to you Tim! You gave us a dollar’s worth today!

I have multiple ideas for the Berean Bible layout. I think the Berean would be more popular if they had a good publishing company that didn’t charge unnecessarily. I’m so glad you brought that one up. This also shows your audience that you do your research considering it is not a “popular” translation. It very well should be. It is a great translation. ❤

As a guy whose primary translation for almost three years now has been the BSB, I appreciate you spotlighting the Berean.

Thanks man.
Art Farstad was an awesome dude! We can really thank him for the NKJV and the CSB, as you mentioned. We lost him too soon. I would love to see and hear his opinions and input in today's translation environment.
Art, RIP bro.

The New English Translation is my best study tool.

I use the BSB and NKJV! I absolutely love the BSB! Such a phenomenal transition. I actually bought the text block and sent it to a rebinder.

My main translations are the NKJV and NASB (1977 or 1995). I have a bunch of others that I consult, but the two mentioned are my main ones; the other Bibles in other translations were bought as resource material, not for the translation itself. For example, I have an ESV Study Bible, but I bought it for the wealth of material it has, not because I'm a fan of the ESV translation itself. Same with the HCSB Apologetics Study Bible. This is a good video, thanks for highlighting the NKJV's footnotes; I've used them but never thought about the points you made. I'll have to pay more attention now.

NKJV too, here, for much the same reasons. Thanks for mentioning the BSB and the WEB. They are accurate and read well too. I like how they are in the public domain, freeing up the church to use them without restriction…Thanks for your reviews.

I am also a fan of the NKJV. I used the KJV for the first few years of my Christian walk because it was the Bible my church used. I accidentally bought the New King James, not really paying attention, when I was looking for a Study Bible. I listen to two pastors every morning, M - F, who both use the New, so I have it by my side most of the time.

That's actually really cool! Didn't expect to hear BSB

Right now I am reading NKJV which is mostly understandable all on its own but I will reference the CSB for clarity. I don’t think the CSB does as well with the beauty of the text but it is very clear and still pretty accurate. I have a goal of finishing the NKJV. But then I want to read the ESV, NASB, CSB, LSB and just maybe maybe the KJV, well maybe. I have always struggled staying consistent in reading but ever since last April/May I have stayed consistent and spiritual walk has taken off. It is just mathematics. Seek God through reading the Word and you will find him. Faith comes by hearing the word of God.

Thanks for the review and recommendation! I've long said that BSB is what the HSCB wanted to be, and that with the four versions having been completed by the same translation and editorial teams paired with the NKJV, these combined provides access un English to the scriptures it in a way that no other set of translations combined can provide to date. Since the BSB is in the public domain, I'd like to see a six column reference Bible with the NKJV, the four versions of the BSB and a column with blank space for writing notes. Along side of this (although in lieu would also work towards my end goal), I'd also like a printed edition of the BSB that provides all four versions in a parallel column format. If Thomas Nelson would take up such projects, I think that they could have a new best seller for scholarly research and general Bible study on their hands.

_Note: I say this as an AV/KJV Bible believer as part and parcel of being a Received Text Bible believer. I appreciate from where you're coming in this presentation, and the recommendations that you give in this video are much the same as I was giving several years ago, with what I wrote above being one way to realize it in culmination of what my beliefs, understandings and approach to the scriptures were until several years ago when I came to see the KJB as being much the Received Text of the scriptures in the early modern English language of English tongue as are the scriptures in the ancient Masoretic Hebrew and Textus Receptus Koine Greek languages of those tongues. Even though I read, meditate, study, teach and preach exclusively from TR sources, and in English, that's the KJB, I'm not KJVO, which should be evident by my embracing all of the scriptures in the Received Text thereof, even as I'm not Original Autograph Only (OAO); and inasmuch as I would be using these works to defend the whole of the Received Text, I think that it would be helpful for those who want to understand the breadth of thought in modern textual scholarship and translational work for such products as I described above using the BSB to be available. I hope that this isn't too confusing with my having written the first paragraph as per my previous desires for a comprehensive set of tools with the knowledge that they still would provide value for KJB believers like myself._

Another cliffhanger from director Tim. Almost to 10k subscribers! Yay!

Agreed. I thought you might say NKJV and NLT, but...The BSB is possibly the best of both major sources. Great choices. Push Thomas Nelson toward adopting the BSB into the stable, like they did with the NET.

I always enjoy Tim`s reviews I wish they were longer than 10 minutes because I could listen to this man all

I SO wish the folks behind the BSB could get the attention of a major publisher who could give their work the breadth of print publication offerings it deserves. Thomas Nelson, are you reading this?! It fills that void between the CSB & NIV for those who prefer more traditional gender language, and it's is a wonderfully smooth translation.

You speak with authority, I enjoy your presentation. I might even buy a NKJV I won't tell my KJV only pastor. ❤

Right on Tim. I'm with you as I use both. They indeed compliment each other. The BSB is a great translation for sure!

I wish there were more Berean Bibles. Especially single column wide margin with inner seam cross reference with notes the bottom and I also wish they had journaling bibles.
