Ever heard of ELEVONS?? #shorts

Tailless planes like fighter jets or delta wing planes such as Concorde have no horizontal stabilizer/elevator. What do they have instead?
So-called, Elevons or tailerons are control surfaces that combine the functions of the elevator (used for pitch control) and the aileron (used for roll control). If you put the words elevator and aileron together, you get an "elevon".
Now you know. Like and follow for more aviation facts every day.

Amazing but the F-35 F/A-18 and F-22 all have a horizontal stabilizer

I’m still fascinated and puzzled how the V tail Bonanza works using that configuration.

The Space Shuttle also has elevons. However, they are only good for final approach and landing.

Hi Captain joe, could you talk about the A320’s speed brake system but mentioning that the ailerons also go up a couple seconds after the main speed brakes go up? I noticed it on a recent flight and got curious, it seems like a good idea.

Actually Concord used to pump fuel between wing tanks to give roll control.

My first rc plane had no ailerons and used the rudder + elevator to roll and turn

Amazing content! Thank you. I know that due to speed the plane lift “nose up” to fly. But, what happens seconds before the plan leave the ground? Mechanically, what happens when you pull the steering? I am curious to know, please
