“…if we could harness it, channel it directly into the flux capacitor, it just might work”

Your short videos have helped me understand my ADHD so much better! At age 70 I’ve finally accepted that it’s OK that I wasn’t able to channel it and stick with it with any of my talents, especially in art and music. I often wished I only had one talent so I could get really good at just one thing.
So I’ve accepted it’s OK to just bounce from one activity to another because I now understand that’s how I get some needed dopamine. It keeps me interested in doing things, that is if I can get myself started to do so, haha. Sometimes it takes days or even weeks to get myself to commence on starting something, in the meantime I piddle and create a bunch of little unfinished projects around my home. That’s OK too. My close friends and family pretty much know that’s how I am. Actually I think my behavior seems to amuse them. Like what will she be getting into next 😄

I have placed an order for this book. Seriously didn’t realize how relatable it is for others in the world of ADHD

There's nothing more exhausting than hearing people tell me I need to learn to channel my hyper focus, like you think I wouldn't have already done that if I could??

This book made me cry so much. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. The validation and radical acceptance is just so powerful! I'm on my third listen, and the tears just keep coming, even knowing what's going to be said! Even though I don't deal with all these symptoms, my spouse is also AuDHD and does. Rich's suggestions are either something new to try or something we already do for each other because we have learned how to communicate. And that seems to be the other half of the equation: radical acceptance + honest communication = a healthy, suppprtive relationship.

Why would you stop it? The focus feels so good. It can't be wrong

I am immensely grateful for your content! I now have a clear, concise and accurate source to share with those who resort to horrible comments and assumptions when they struggle to understand why the most basic and essential things, like getting housing, medical, bills along with self care, meal planning and prep, eating along with writing a yo do list and remembering to use it, or remembering where I put it. My hope is that your videos reach every neurotypical person who is close to an ADHD type and that they will realize that we feel every bit of frustration they do x 10 and are prone to negative self thoughts over their inability to “ just do it”. It’s like having dementia, with a clear awareness of all the ways you fucked up, having behavior that constitutes insanity, by way of Albert Einstein. The gist is it’s insane to do the same thing/ behavior/ response to the same stimuli, over and over, expecting a different outcome. In reality, we are far from insane. We always hopeful and optimistic that we will “ get it” “ sort it”. We can’t just give up and stand defeated. We embody the ideology of striving to be better, do better. We keep trying, don’t give up, despite experiencing multiple failures, every day. The greatest irony is that most of us have been and continued to be thought of and called lazy, by many. The stigma we face is reminiscent of the stigma, once associated with ASD. In the Northeast, there’s a widespread awareness and understanding. I understand that many “ Atypical” people struggle and that they are often misunderstood, but it’s easy to learn what life is like for many of these people. For example, we can search any social media for living with Upsyndrome, brittle bone disease, amputees, incomplete development of limbs, ASD and so on.
Most recently, Autism awareness has been brought to the masses and this awareness has improved the lives of those with ASD. Despite identical symptoms and struggles, those with ADHD are not supported and understood. You are helping with this and I am grateful for all the thought and consideration you put into each clip. You’re helping so many people to love themselves more and hate themselves less.

I hate that saying, "you can do anything if you put your mind to it." I know that I can do anything, it's just so hard for me to get to it and actually get it done! ❤

I just wanted to share how much I enjoy your videos. The view you share on ADHD has been what I have been telling my son for years. To be able to show him living proof is more than I could ask for. You're truly amazing.

I wonder what your take on medication for ADHD/ADD is. Your videos have made it easier to cope with my symptoms just by knowing someone else shares them, so thank you. Also… you’ve totally sold me on Dirty Laundry 🤗

This is quite 'funny' to see it after hours of watching videos about bomb A (thanks Nolan), Hiroshima, atoms, black holes and dark matter. It's 3am, I should sleep 😅

I love the way your nails are done! I always love seeing men doing their nails like that. It looks lovely.

Oh, yeah, and the advice is also great! I really needed to hear that because I'm still kinda stubborn with trying to "be neurotypical" even when I'm not consciously thinking about it.

The way to "handle" it is to get a job that involves what you are often fixated on. 🤷 (But with enough novelty that the Dopamine doesn't wear off.)

I work as a Historical Interpreter (Reenactor), acting as a Tinsmith, Potter, and Blacksmith.

And when I am at the crafts table with the kids I also get to work on my personal crafts during the work day. Such as Nälbinding, Tablet Weaving, Historical Sewing, and cord creation using a Lucet.

I don't get paid overly much, but MAN am I happy!

This book had me laughing and crying at the same time. Freaking loved every second of it. It’s super freaking relatable. I was properly diagnosed a few days ago in my mid 30s.
