It's literally devastating when you stock up on a fixation food and then just DESPISE it like the flip of a switch

The only thing worse is when you have a hyper fixation food and they either stop selling it or change the recipe and claim it tastes the same when it very much does not

I might actually cry when I lose cornflakes. It's a miracle I haven't already.

I had no idea this was part of ADHD?
I’ve had a few people over the years ask if I’d ever been diagnosed with ADHD or on the spectrum & I always said no, thought nothing of it. I’ll be 37 this year, lost my mum suddenly last January, abusive brother suddenly in October, it’s just my Dad & I now, it’s given me so much thinking space - how I think (most of all), react, obsess, eat, talk.. I’ve always felt very different since I was a child. Had a breakdown when I was just shy of 21 & never fully recovered. I started following you because I strongly relate to most of your shorts, but this food obsession is absolutely me, stockpiling..& then completely going off of it.
Perhaps it’s time I start talking to someone.

I have ADHD but there r so many behaviors that I have that I've never attributed to being associated w ADHD. I've learned so much from this channel & it actually makes me feel a lot better about my same behaviors.

RIP to the porrage. You were great, now you taste like misfortune and dirt. We shall never forget.

In feeding therapy, this is called food jagging! It's the experience of getting "stuck" on a food and then having it over and over and over until your sensory system is overloaded by the monotony and rejects the food (could be weeks, could be years!) If you have a food you're jagging on that want to try and keep the food in your diet long-term (like if it's healthy or cheap or quick to make or culturally/religiously important) that you haven't lost yet, try to have 2 or more variations so as to not overload your sensory system, and don't eat it more than one time in 48 hours. Peanut butter one day, chocolate the next, cinnamon the day after if you can!

Eggs. How I miss the eggs. They were...perfection.

I've recently had an idea in case it helps anyone: I've started a notebook where I store info about all the food/meals I like. It is making grocery shopping so much easier, as it lists multiple options. I normally cannot think of anything to buy, so just default to my current hyperfixation food.

Today I learned I’m in fact not a weirdo for wanting to eat the same thing for several months, only to grow tired of it at random and switch to something else. Glad to know this is normal as an ADHD haver.

I feel this in my soul. Eggs on an English muffin. Ruined. It was a good run, got about 90 straight days 😂

There are so many things I've learned about as an adult that have been symptoms of my ADHD, throughout my life. I always felt like something was wrong and struggled with a lot if issues like this, but was always told it was just because I was "quirky, " or "weird. " I didn't even consider this diagnosis until I was in my late 30s, after researching mental health issues in regards to a loved one that had been struggling. It is fascinating the amount of adult women in my life that were told similar things, that they were weird or too picky or quirky or just anything, other than what was actually going on with them. I have learned so much over the last several years and your channel has truly helped me see myself in a different light. I'm not sure how it has affected everyone else, but I feel like some of these issues have become harder to deal with, for me, with age.

Happened to me after three years of having scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast. It was disgusting to me until I got pregnant and started having cravings 😂

This is one of the reasons I love cereal, no matter how much I eat it, I never get tired of it because of the variety of cereals. It’s the same, but not.

This happens to me all the frickin time. My brain even makes me tell people I'm close with; "This (whatever) is now my new addiction." (Regarding food) 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm so glad to learn that it's not only me!

Yes!!! Omg. I've been diagnosed with adhd decades ago, and I never knew this was even related to that. You're blowing my mind over here
