🌴 I’ve wanted one for years but they’re expensive, I found one today at a goodwill store for $35 dollars 😳 I’m really happy it got all the attachments and looks brand new! Can’t wait to start making bread and biscuits with it, I feel like a kid at Christmas 👊🏼👍🏼😊

The heat from the friction of the planetary gears and motor will cause the grease to heat up and break down over time causing separation of the food grade oil from the paraffin. The silver ring is designed to catch some of the oil as the grease separates due to heat and age. If you see oil seeping out and collecting around the base of the silver ring that means the ring is full and the grease needs to be replaced. Also, the grease will dry out and harden over time which will then no longer lubricate the gears. Depending on use, the old grease should be removed and the gears should be re-packed with fresh food grade grease every 3 to 5 years. If your mixer has the brass planetary gears and not the nylon gears, you can get away with stretching that out a little bit longer. However, the brass gears that are superior to the nylon gears are no longer available, so why wait and risk damage due to lack of lubrication.

KitchenAid has quietly changed the motors on the Artisan KMS195P models to 300 watts, down from 325, and included extra attachments hopefully to distract the consumer. Isn't this false advertisement though? I mean it's still called an artisan series.

I’ve had my Sunbeam stand mixer for over 50 years and decided to purchase a kitchenaid artisan mixer. Sorry, but I’ll take my Sunbeam stand mixer any day. I like the fact that my stainless steel bowl automatically turns as I mix ingredients and can use a rubber spatula to scrape the edge of the bowl while mixing the ingredients. You can’t do that with a Kitchenaid mixer.
