Included is a 5.5-qt stainless steel bowl with a handle, coated flat beater, coated dough hook, 6-wire whip and user guide.
This new motor also features a 1/2 speed perfect for folding delicate ingredients like egg whites and berries.
The motor head has an attachment hub, turn the knob and remove the cover. Attach any Kitchenaid attachment like this grinder, turn the knob and it’s ready to use. If you want to buy this unit or any attachments I’ll put the products and links right below this video. You can use a spiralizer, make pasta with the cutter, there’s a slicer/shredder, dicer etc. I’ve reviewed some of these attachments and also the pouring shield and flex edge beater and I will link those videos below if you’re interested.
Screw the cover back on. The speed control lever for speeds 1-10 and half speed for folding. The beater height adjustment screw that you can turn to the left to raise the beater or right to lower it. You only need to make an adjustment if your beater is too far away from the bottom or is hitting the bowl. The beater should just clear the bottom of the bowl. The bowl lift lever raises and and lowers the bowl.
Before you attach the bowl, the mixer should be off and unplugged. The lever should be down. Put the bowl supports on the pins and press the back of the bowl down, you hear that snap. Slip the flat beater on the beater shaft and turn to hook it over the pin. Move the lever up to raise the bowl and now the mixer is ready to use. When you’re done mixing, move the lever down. Push the beater up and turn to the left, pull it down off the shaft.
I hope you enjoyed this video. Please subscribe and I'll see you next time. Thanks for watching :)

My daughter got me one of these for Christmas. I only had ever seen the tilt head versions so this is all new. This video will be really helpful in learning to use it. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this demo. I was ready to box it up and take it back to Sam's. It probably sounds silly, but I didn't know to push down the bowl until it snaps into place. I had a tilt head previously, but gave it to my daughter, so I wanted the bigger one this time. I used the tilt-head almost daily. I thought this would be a simple transition, it's not. This is a whole new ballgame. I can't wait to use it, now that I know how. I really appreciate you doing this video. Thank you.

I was waiting for someone to test this new Stand Mixer. I have the Discontinued Pro 600 version & my 5 Qt Tilt Head model but I’ve always been curious about this unit.

Thanks Anita!

I received mine today (late shipment but it's ok, Christmas deliveries for kids are more important). It's the Agave color which is perfect. Im a musician, Cyber consultant, father to five from 3-18 so this will be great for serving cleaner food.

I had two different 5.5 Quart KitchenAid mixers which I loved for making cookies, divinity, batters and bread. A precaution is always to use the two lowest speeds for dough hooks and do not make divinity. The reason I mentioned this is that the nylon gear for the whisk, dough hook and mixer paddles is prone to failure, and I've managed to strip out gears on two mixers in ten years. As a result, I currently am going without a mixer and may consider another brand that is more reliable. Another comment is that the mixer is very heavy and should be stored on the countertop, as moving it in and out of a pantry is back killing.

In your opinion is it better than an artisan?

Thanks for the video, I recently lost my good eyesight and it's hard for me to read the instructions.
Question, is it possible to machine wash the attachment?

What a fantastic video. I don't think you missed a thing. Your orange cranberry loaf looks much better than anyone else's I've seen on YouTube. Do you have the recipe somewhere on your channel or a website? Thank you!

I'm thinking of getting one for our new home. Do you recommend this unit or should we go with the tilt head?

Hi, Chris here……..would you recommend this particular mixer suitable to make a double batch of toll house cookies with walnuts? My understanding is this is a more suitable mixer for that than the Artisan one…..thanks
