There's no amount of money that's gonna help the black population in the US unless education is adressed.

Reperations for individuals won`t have a lasting impact.
But if you use them for improving/funding housing, infrastracture, medical supply, education etc. in predominantly black neighbourhoods and communities the positive impact could be huge for the current and even more so for future generations.

So you don’t pay a bill for years and the person you owe has been injured by your failure to pay, and you are taken to court and found guilty of not paying the debt and the judge says it’s been so long, let’s find other ways to satisfy the debt other than paying the debt! Sorry, that’s BS. It’s not “throwing money” at people. That’s a cruel analogy meant to devalue what reparations for black people are. And you should know better, David.

It's not "throwing money at people". It's creating programs that help improve the potential in the lives of those that have been disenfranchised because of past action and systemic racism. If I understand correctly no one or single person would receive a payment.

I’m with David on this one. Reparations, to me, look like school funding in mostly black districts, fair healthcare for minorities, fair hiring regulations, and fair voting rules. A “we’re sorry” check will do little when compared to actual, infrastructural accommodations. I highly doubt we’ll ever see reparations in the form of cash to the individual.

So how did reparations work for Jewish people? It should be the same rule for Black people. The Black issues happened in America, unlike all the other groups.

I appreciated this call! I think these conversations with black people need to happen more on this channel. It makes a lot more sense when people hear the issues out loud! Also it helps people understand cause a lot people do have questions but might be scared to ask or worried they might offend someone.

My friend u haven’t looked into reparations very well. It’s not simply giving a check. I suggest Yvette Carnell or Sandy Darity. Those are two ppl, mr Darity in particular who explain exactly what reparations for ADOS would look like

David, "throwing money" has absolutely nothing to do with the massive debt owed. Worry not about "throwing money", but the massive debt owed. We'll worry about what we'll do with reparations.

Money alone won't slove the issues; targeting that money at the issues that will improve the issues is a better approach, but it's not perfect.

I don't know why this is so complicated but you can simply not charge descendants of slaves any taxes. That right there will double the income of all of them. And you're not handing them money you're just taking less from them. Why should you descendants of slaves be taxed as much as everyone else when they're behind everyone else?
