Emotional validation at its finest. I’ve been trying this method with pretty good success for about a year now. Empathy is the cheat code to meaningful human connection. Employing tactical empathy to our kids empowers them and makes them feel understood and valued. They feel like they are worthy and on an equal level as us. Great video thank you!

I've been following the hand in hand parenting method for about 4months now and it's amazing the change in my child Is so positive i also find she doesn't have as many meltdowns as she feels connected to me. I try and do at least 10minuite of special time every morning too. Great video xx

I found the positive discipline approach to be best and most close to nature and logic.

We’ve been dealing with a lot of talking back and attitude from my 4 yr old. I know it’s him testing how much control he is but it’s tiring and draining

I love this idea. I have a very emotional 5-year-old so we will definitely be trying this.

Thank you so much for making this video! I have intuitively tried the comforting your child through their crying thing a few times recently with my 19 month old & wow, does it ever make a difference! Now that I have seen this video & your well explained reasoning behind this method, I will try my very best to implement these techniques as well as get my husband on board. I paused the video several times to explain to him the concepts & they seemed to make sense to him too, so I foresee a beautiful change in our daughter. Thanks again. :)

Great video! I've always tried to ignore tantrums but inevitably ended up either trying to reason with my daughter, having to punish her after she takes her anger out by hitting her little brother or by feeling like I'm not doing anything to help her. I have once or twice given in and scooped her up and held her closely and that always works to soothe her but I was always aware that it's controlling the situation somewhat for her. I will try this technique it sounds like it's a great and simple way to allow them to feel their emotions whilst also showing them comfort and love. I'm sure I'll need this today! 😊👍 Thanks Xx

I have tried to "be there" while my 2 year old is having a tantrum. If I get too close, she pushes me away. If I'm even within eyeshot, she screams and pushes me away.

Hi Ysis, i have been watching your videos recently and im going through the phase which you had been through. My elder son who is 2 years 4 months is acting so roughly with the new born. Initial one month was ok and he never harm the newborn and i was so proud of him and i praise him as well. But post that he has started to hit him so badly and we tell him it hurts and no. But he repeats again and again. He wants to c the newborn which we do , but now he is acting weirdly and he does know it hurts. Really unsure how to handle and i cry everyday to fade this phase

My sons cries and hits during his tantrums. He completely shuts me down during this period and when I try to support him by being there for him during this time he punches, kicks, spits, etc. However, walking away from him and giving him his space while he is having his moment makes him more upset. I am still trying to learn how to deal with his big feelings in a way that works for the both of us. Parenting is hard. 😔
