there used to be a part of the video at the end saying something like "this video is also a thought germ. please sneeze it out to people you know, *infect everyone*" that seems to have vanished. given the pandemic, I am not surprised about that, but I shall forever miss that bit

What's tiring is that not having an stance (sometimes for the valid reason of "I don't know enough to form one") is seen as agreeing with the "enemy" of whoever asked for such stance. It's even more tiring to be expected to be experts on all issues all the time. It's impossible at best and anxiety/stress inducing at worst. Even if you want to be an activist, it's more effective to focus on one core issue than to spread your time and energy over all issues.

This makes so much sense, and it reminds me of another thing that fits perfect with this model.

I usually take the neutral position on a lot of divisive thought germs, and one thing I have notice is the one side or the other trick makes the thought germs fight harder against resistant minds. Both sides of the virus get angry that you aren't infected and try to make you angry yo pick a side.
