Thanks for showing me how to dismantle my GE dryer, so I could clean out the fan.

For those who don't have square screwdriver bits, the screws on my model matched to a #2 bit.

Just reassembled mine, newer model maybe 1 year old at most, Very very similar in taking it off, but a couple more screws tk get the top off, theres a silver plate on the back that needs to be removed, then 2 more screws next to the wiring …. i highly recommend taking the top off very difficult to align the drum with it being on. Also, the hardest part in the whole process is getting the belt on the motor and the white piece, reach ur hand on the right side under the drum, push the white piece back as far as possible, rotate counterclockwise until u feel the belt barely catch the motor, then twist the motor to allow the belt to fully get onto the motor.

I just fixed my dryer today using this video for reference, thanks for the video!!!

The problem with mine, it kept tripping the circuit breaker and would not come on at all. I'd set it to a run cycle, press the start button and immediately the breaker would trip. There was some stuff that had spilled on the top panel of the machine, and had made its way into the gap between the top panel and the plastic control panel, down inside the machine all the way to the bottom left side where there's a safety switch that is engaged by the belt tensioner pulley rod. A terminal on that switch was arcing against the metal housing of the machine because of the moisture from the spill.

Cleaned up the area, dried it really well, I removed the switch and put down a few layers of electrical tape onto the metal housing under the switch, then screwed the switch back in position on top of the tape in order to isolate it from being able to arc out onto the metal again. Reassembled everything and now it works perfectly fine!

Videos like this one are super helpful. I have an older dryer and have been concerned about a possible lint build-up inside, the primary cause of dryer-generated house fires. Thanks to this video, I'll be able to disassemble my dryer and ensure it is pristine inside. Thank you for posting this. It's much appreciated.

This video is also good for my 17-year old Fisher & Paykel DE60FA Dryer. The dryer still works great. I just wanted to know how to replace the belt in case it breaks. THANKS!

Awesome video, detailed and simple to follow. Saved my ass here tonight, spent 20 minutes on the front panel trying to figure out where I missed a screw to take the top off.

Definitely awesome.

This video is great. It helped me fix my dryer as it was not starting. Once I opened it and cleaned the lint, it started working again.

Thanks. You saved me a technician visit or a new dryer. The belt on my Hotpoint dryer got misaligned and the motor wouldn't spin. I took the drum out, cleaned out a scary amount of lint, put the belt back on the motor & drum and snapped it all back together. Two screwdrivers was all it took.

Really helpful video. I probably wouldn't have attempted taking apart the dryer without it. Good detail. Watching video helped me reinstalling drum and with the belt pully system. Thank you!

I have a squeaky bearing or pulley. Haven't fixed it yet, but this is an excellent video showing how to get into the dryer (what I needed most). THANKS!

This is a good video but I am unable to get the screws at the top of the door out. I've tried PB buster with no luck.

Thank you so much! I was able to take apart my dryer and discover my slides were gone. I put it back together and almost made a video of a fat girl with a busted knee McGuivering herself out of a tiny trailer corner with the aid of a cat scratching post and a few cuss words but I'll spare the world the indignity. Thanks again, slides ordered and slimmest child on standby for the hook up.

Great video.had no idea how easy it was to disassemble a dryer. I was going to have it towed away $200 -- no way-- five minutes down the road brought it in pieces to Salvage. Thanks again.

Well, I got er torn apart and found a broken belt... hoping I can fix this for 20 bucks as long as I can put it all back together without to much bent metal or cut wires
. Thanks for the tutorial!
