I know this is a year old, but it might be worth a revisit to include the slot machines and soda dispenser from Vault-tech Workshop. Both of these options have a huge impact on happiness.

Having 17 bars in a settlement is totally ridiculous, it's not realistic at all. And you'd think with all of those bars, people might be happy but their productivity would be pretty low!

Well this may explain why my 26 people Sanctuary build never goes higher than about 88. That is with 2 each of all large stores, enough food, and enough water and defense for 100 settlers. Also excellent housing, a big lounge, and equiped workout area. So i just need to add about 25 gorillas? I will give it a try sometime.
