Russia is moving troops to the borders of Ukraine’s northern neighbour Belarus.
The joint military exercises, named United Resolve, are to take place as Russia also assembles forces along Ukraine’s eastern border. Threatening a potential invasion that could unleash the largest conflict in Europe for decades.
Western countries say they fear Russia is preparing a pretext for a new assault on Ukraine after successfully invaded in 2014.
Moscow denies any plans for an attack but has said it could take unspecified military action unless the West agrees to a list of demands, including banning Ukraine from ever joining NATO.
Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko has said the drills were needed as Ukraine builds up troops near the Belarus border.
The Sun talked to Franak Viacorka a Belarusian political advisor who slams Lukashenko for allowing Russian troops to amass on the Belarus border.
Talks between Nato and Russia last week ended with no breakthrough. Kyiv has asked Western countries for help.
British military aid including anti-tank weapons arrived in Ukraine on Tuesday to help Kyiv defend itself from a potential invasion.
