Have you considered adding a kind of recipe section using your crops? Like you mentioned there about the chutney and I’m sure you’ve mention a few other things that you make, would be great to see, another string to the bow n all that too

Wood chips= pure joy! I ordered 2 big truckloads this spring. I couldn't help but happy dance when it came. My husband thought I was nuts, lol. If you know, you know. Manure and wood chips, best stuff ever!

Hi Emma I'm binge watching your diaries and I I'm at May 2022. Your continuing battle with the slugs and snails might stop if you spread Chilli Flakes not powder around your plants. My 5yr old Granddaughter threw a packet of lettuce seeds into a pot and wanted them to grow...that was my job. I used the chilli flakes around the plants and checked at night and the and slugs just turned around and slimed back out without eating anything and they were still alive🎉🎉

Dear Emma take advantage of having so much wood chips. Cover with black cover where all the weeds are & mulch it!! 🦋🤗🦋

No such thing as boring woodchip! Woodchip is absolute gold!

I totally understand the woodchip euphoria especially when it's free & dumped close by! It makes pathways look tidy & cared for.

If you leave your green tomatoes in a dish on the window sill they will turn red

Woodchip on weed fabric. When in a couple of years it is semi broken down. Lift the fabric at one side and drag it onto a bed as an autumn mulch. Re Chip the path…… Sorted. ❤

Fill up your old compost bags with that horse manure for use as an activator in your new compost bin ... The one you haven't made yet 😅
Thanks for another enjoyable episode Emma and see you Sunday after church for the gardening lessons.

I always find it easier to use a fork to get wood chip than a spade.

You can take the beans out of the pod to dry out further to replant next year, or you can cook them 👍

I love harvesting seeds and beans almost as much as I love harvesting fruit and veg to eat! I’ve got plates of nasturtium and marigold seeds drying at the minute and we’ve got so many runner beans seeds too. If you find someone who wants to swap a herd of cows, point them my way! 😂
