I have mild sleep apnea that I am managing with a dental device, and this happens to me every night. My SPO2 starts to drop, so my heart rate starts increasing. I see it all in my fitness watch app and often fully wake up from it. It's rotten.

Had this once. Blood oxygen dropped to high 70’s or low 80’s. HR was over 100 and almost impossible to sleep

compensatory mechanism due to hypoxemia, as lowered blood oxygen concentration means more total blood volume is needed to obtain the equivalent blood oxygen saturation to the target tissues

Could you made a video about hypoxia and lifespan? There is a research: Hypoxia extends lifespan and neurological function in a mouse model of aging

Similarly, could an abnormally slow heart rate (possibly due to undiagnosed hypothyroidism) increase blood pressure and be the root cause of hypertension?

Over time the body compensates for this by raising hemoglobin and hematocrit levels

I literally just had my class on shock four days ago, so you know darn well I didn't have to think about this one

A look at how TRPA1 is a powerful oxygen sensor and stimulates other receptors would be great to discuss.

Sympathetic nervous sistem will activate due to the stress that lack of oxigen poses.

i have a vid where i dropped to sub60% o2. but i have some advantage, some people go unconcious sub 70% O2 .Blood too thick, i have to move it move it always. And my heart rate def goes up below 90% oxygen, and i can feel it, like body screaming problem.45% oxy is my record, but i am a smoker and have high hemoglobin by nature.

First thing that comes to mind without too much thoughs would be that organs and muscle ask for more oxigen thus the heart beating faster to increase the flow of oxigen. Sounds paradoxal and wrong though 😢

Maybe that's why Kenyan runners are so fit. There's less oxygen in high altitudes so their heart muscles are trained consistently.

So when Eliude Kipchoge goes to Germany, an altitude of 34 meters, he runs a sub two hour marathon. He trains at 2500 meters. And he runs at 13mph.
