I had it done. Wasnt that bad. The plumber tied into an existing gas line and ran a flexable gas line to my kitchen up through the floor behind the stove

Even though we use electricity now I had my gas line installed up to my stove when the house was built. I take it the gas regulator is on all stoves or is this an extra? I am now in a wheelchair and would have to pay someone to make the connection if we get a gas stove. I wish I would have thought to get the gas line to the dryer too).
Now I think I’ll just get an induction hot plate. This I can put on a fold up shelf on the end of my island so I can actually see what I’m doing. Gas line will end up just being a selling point if and when we sell.
