The Intrepid would be a better competitor with the Titan, if it had 2 S1 shields and 2 S1 coolers like some other starters.
A couple more missiles wouldn't hurt either for the price point.

I remember my progress in SC with joy, from Aurora MR to Titan Avenger to Cutlass Black to Vulture and finally getting my Corsair. Every upgrade was mind blowing and felt rewarding. I also love going back to my Aurora with newfound pilot experience and experiment with different loadouts, cargo runs (3 SCU) and skins.

I do like your comparison because you look at every gameloop a starter may be interested in and compare the ships potentials.
The Titan is my favorite starter ship because: I can do bounty missions and, if there is anything valuable to loot, I can collect it.
(I hope you can understand my bad english)

Titan. Its ability to carry a small vehicle and the ability to enter the cockpit directly are key features for me. It will also be interesting to see what CIG does with the Titan when it gets its gold pass updates.

Theres one point I´d like to add that I recently discovered the hard way:
I was sitting in an Intrepid and flying from Orison to Daymar to get the mining mission for IAE done. On my way through Crusader OM-1 i got interdicted by pirates. I had no chance in fighting with the intrepid. I couldnt jump out because I was jammed. And I couldnt outrun them, because the Mantis and Buccaneers were faster. I was dead the second I got the interdiction-message.
If I had been sitting in the Avenger, I could have just turned around and ran away. The Titan ist faster even than the Mantis, Buccaneer und Firebird. Just fly until youre out of interdiction-range and jump from there on. If done right pirates arent a threat when sitting in the Avenger.

Excellent discussions, and a feathered hand with the FX. Subbed, thanks for the comparison.

Titan needs a gold pass... This ship lacks storage and anything, it's only good for combat and putting a bike in the back

If I had to buy a starter...one ship...it would be the Titan...has been for many years. Right now, as an interceptor, it faster than most other fighters and has weapons that are as good as any other the category. From a combat performance perspective, it is the best bang for your buck by far. Having an entrance/exit to the cockpit is also a valuable thing as you don't have to expose your entrance. I can only assume that they will sneak in some weapon/armor storage. You can also keep a 1 SCU box in the back for now.
That said, I really like the Intrepid and it is pretty fun to fly around...and the quantum distance will be a big factor soon. In 5 years playing this game, I have found it is best to get the ship that excites you and understand that you can always change it. You WILL want to at some point. I have bought some ships multiple times and melt and get something new often.

I would have agreed that the Intrepid had better QT fuel if CIG had not nerfed the Cutters QT fuel. That just tells me the improved fuel is just an initial selling point that will be gotten rid of later.

Titan. I have a few ships in my fleet, but I always fall back to the Titan.

I'm pretty sure the Titan will receive some nerf when it's finally brought at the same level of the new ships, the stats can't match the space for components

The Intrepid splitting its cargo capacity into two areas is horrible. You lose so much versatility that way.

Thank God I watched this video, I nearly made the mistake of CCU'ing my Pisces Expedition to Intrepid

They should add a pdc to the intrepid or something to balance it a little and make it a more interesting in combat

I feel the biggest miss was the cargo area. I feel the cargo should have just gone on the one side that's asymmetrical.

take the intrepid with LTi now and upgrade for 5 bucks to the 325a

The Ol'titan still holds the ground for best starter ship
My Titan have been serving me for 8 years until I decided to upgrade into Taurus.
I decided to upgrade since they change the claiming time for Titan from 50 sec to 5 min.

I upgraded to the Intrepid and I love it. However, I would definitely not recommend it to a new player. It's still a better starter than the Mustang or Aurora, but it had better be for the price! It just cannot compare to capabilities of the cheaper Titan. While the Intrepid has the best interior of any starter, even if you count the Nomad (I don't ), that's just not important when you're learning the game.

one is for adventure and one is for combat, simple concept really.
