It has the range of a cutter with the cargo of a titan/300i. I think it is a beauty. Stats mean nothing cause it all can change 10 times before 1.0

I like it, bought it yesterday and I have done bunker runs, delivery missions and just flew around, It is a starter ship after all

Love the interior and its use of space (best so far), but that's it.
The advantage of the Intrepid is that you can wake up and have a shower and coffee; but ... With current gameplay I do not see any functionality for this ship, practically its on par with the Rambler Cutter (~US$15 less) with a few differences. Currently in game: 1) It is not good for ship-to-ship combat because it has low DPS for its price range, shields are minimal, and its maneuverability is just ok. 2) For bunker runs you cannot take on turrets easily and you can't drive in from a distance because you can't carry a vehicle. 3) For trading you are limited to a max size of four 2x1 containers (your missions are going to be limited). 4) Now you may load up on cargo containers and do mining by hand, but you would want a better radar for this.
On the bright side, the current starter package does have the enviable "lifetime insurance" and "$20, 000 starter credits", but your upgrade path from their takes you out of the starter ships. So if you have a standalone starter ship you like and want a lifetime-insurance starter package to upgrade to mid-tier or higher ship, its looking good.
In summary, I'd rank the Intrepid along side the Zeus Mk II ES, while the Zeus is more functional, its also ~x3 more expensive than the Intrepid.

Ive been flying this daily for over a week now. It's now my favorite ship in the game. It might not be the best in any category. But it just feels good to be in. Everything just works.

It's got half the shields, half the firepower, and a much less useful cargo bay than the Titan, for more money. You can't carry 4SCU containers - the largest you can carry are 2SCU containers. It's got a nice interior, but any functionality it gives is years away - by which time you'll almost certainly have moved on. Unless you just adore the looks? There's currently no reason to recommend the Intrepid. It's just a bad deal.

The paints come with side decals and stripes that help breakup the flat top view of the ship.

The price of an Avenger Titan is too much to ask for a ship that even defenders were saying was "clearly" a tier 1 starter meant to compete with the Drake Cutter.

The ship will also give players the ability to get acquainted with the engineering role when that comes out.

I really like this starter. Love the design and it fits in a unique spot between the titan and 100i

I still think the drake cutter is miles ahead. It is smaller, thus easier to fit into larger ships. It can fit some 4-wheeled ground vehicles. It can hold about the same amount of SCU. It has a bathroom, a shower, a bed, gun rack, food maker and the Cutter expedition has a suite locker. The cutter is more maneuverable. The cutter is a winner hands down.

Edit: I forgot to mention that if your ship catches fire on the inside, it will be quicker to find and put out the fire if you are flying solo, as intended. With the intrepid, you have to navigate more doors/corridors to find the fire.

I like the Intrepid, i played with it a good bit in PTU, and i see it more as a 300i competitor than an alternative to the Titan. Something for someone who wants a capable runabout that can engage in those starter game loops, but (in universe) doesn't want to go the military surplus route with the Titan, wants a little more style and polish than the Cutter, but doesn't want to pay that Origin luxury tax for a 300i. I also think the design is ripe for combat and pathfinder variants with a minimum of internal modifications. But that's just this Citizen's opinion. I know a lot of people don't like the looks, but let's be honest, if Star Wars and Firefly had never happened, and CIG introduced the YT-1300 or the Firefly, people would scream about those too, they are not, objectively speaking, attractive ships, but we came love them just the same.

I really wish they made the landing gear a hair taller and instead of 2, just a single, larger drop down cargo bay. That would have allowed much easier fit for loading and unloading as well as made it so a pulse would fit comfortably. It would not be remotely op, just a hair more functionality that takes advantage of the asymmetry.

I love it. I love small ships. I hope there will be like this.

I just tried to use it for a hauling contract and the mission gave me 4 SCU boxes so I took my Nomad and wow that ship is a lot better in MM + tractor beam.

I don’t think I’m going to keep the Intrepid 😢

It's a nice ship to scroll past in the in-game ship store.

The only thing that kept me from getting an ION was the lack of bed, this thing being an ION for low danger fights with a bed is a done deal

Homestly i was really excited when i saw this and its even better now with the size 4

This is a great ship to live in, but the Titan will earn you the money you need to get your next ship. The firepower on the Intrepid is horrible. If they upgrade the gun to size 5 then it will look better and maybe actually be worth the price. Also, it will be more in line with the Ares which is what I think they were goin g for as a concept.

Can do almost everything, has room to carry friends or corpses to loot and comes with a Lifetime Insurance token. Im happy with it.

I think with some of the other paints they offer the aesthetic improves.
