You Shouldn't Buy The Crusader Intrepid in Star Citizen

today we are taking a look at the new crusader intrepid in Star Citizen. this starter ship is an interesting first step in SC.

Long time Elite Dangerous player. This starter ship got me to finally buy Star Citizen. I love the interior. Yes i know the Avenger Titan is a much better ship but one reason I bought this ship was to carry over that sweet LTI to an upgrade in the future.

bought it a couple days ago, did a few bounties and thought the PU and shields were a bit shite so upgraded them, now its pretty good tbh

I swear every YouTuber that reviews ships are reading from the same script. Not a single original take. I think the ship is gorgeous, and yes while it should have been $10 cheaper based off stats alone, it’s clear that a shit ton of work went into it and is still a fantastic little ship for the money.

The exterior looks great. It's become my new starter ship of choice. It's a great little all around shuttle.

Right now with the iae discount on the game package it's the best value if you want to do an upgrade. I bought the intrepid and then upgraded to a Nomad, so I got a Nomad starter pack with lti for 83usd

people loving the intrepid is fair, but you can't deny the avenger is just gonna get you further in the current state and probably for the next 2 years.
and after years of seeing this type of insane love for a new ship in the game over and over again, what do yall think happened when the avenger came out, those old ships literally funded the game xD

very low emission and power efficient vessel with quadrant type shield, so you can boost shield direction, longest qt range and more fuel than all startes except the ugly cutter rambler. one gun is a bit meh but overall i like the ship. I have the titan as well, and yes its more versatile but i find myself taking the intrepid out more due to the longer range

If CIG brings out new ships that are better than the existing ones, players complain. If CIG brings out new ships that are not as good as the existing ones, players complain. I wonder what players would do if CIG brought out new ships that are the same as existing ones? Personally, I like the Intrepid :)

Most things that are wrong with Intrepid are not Intrepid's fault, but the Titan's. It's just obscenely overpowered, and you can't compete with it. Take it out of the equation, and the Intrepid looks much more interesting.

If you wanna look at something Asymmetric, just take a look at your Windows cursor... it's right there in your face and you never noticed it. 🙂

Agreed, it is not a good ship and it is not a good price, and I think it's particularly sketchy of CIG to also turn it into newbie bait by calling it a "starter".... The same new players who will eventually figure it out for themselves and CCU to something worthwhile later, aka spend even more money. However despite good intentions, I've decided to stop trying to argue with the fanbois, as they obviously don't care about facts regardless, and I suspect most will eventually (and quietly) follow the newbies' example anyway. 🍻

CIG keeps producing starter ships that are nowhere near as good as the OG ones.

It needs a size 2 shield gen, flat out.

Titan has way, way better weapon loads, and has cargo space, ramp access for small bikes/cars, bed, small food area, better component slots. Same cargo capacity. decently quicker, and handles much better. A bit cheaper.

Nomad has, again, way better weapon setup, all the inside functions, and a funky truck bed, better component slots, tractor beam. 3 times the cargo capacity. Very slightly slower, and only marginally lower handling. A bit more expensive.

The only real thing the Intrepid has over them is the engineering station... which serves no use on that small ship. It has half the shields of the Titan, and 1/3 the shields of the Nomad, but loses so much DPS, and some utility even between the other two.

Outrageously overpriced. Sounds crazy, but $10 less and it would have sold like hotcakes. $65? My wife got it, but cuz she had a 125a and $5 in store credit.

She loves the ship, but ouch to the price. Most existing players buying it are just to get a discounted LTI token
