My older sister was very into tumblr when the original one shot of one punch man was realised and I remember her showing it to me, then eventually someone took the one shot and made a rudimentary animation out of it, and then that led to the manga and anime. She has loved genos since the beginning 😂

ONE is one of the best manga artists in my personal opinion. Like some of the panels in mob psycho do an AMAZING job expressing the emotions characters feel in the moment. As an adult, Ive yet to finish drawing my own original comic, but everytime i see ONE's work, it inspires me to try again or just draw a little more.

Hetalia gave me flashbacks. In middle school I cosplayed as the female version of France. Not even the male version. The female version from that one episode. I was in deep. I had a Hetalia backpack. I mean, it got me into geography, I guess.

Its the fact that One didnt STOP making OPM webcomics once the manga got made - because you can legitimately see he DID get better at drawing - from page 1 of OPM to the last page of Mob Psycho is a big jump in quality -

a newer manga, Girl Meets Rock! also started this way!!! the writer, kuwahali, posted the prototype(?) on twitter where you can still read it, until shonen jump picked it up and got an artist to draw for it!!

I remember when I read the One Punch Man webcomic back in 2013 I said to myself "the drawing is bad, but the story is very good"

I think "She loves to cook and she loves to eat" also started as a webcomic.

It's a really interesting look into the treatment of women in Japan, Japanese gay culture, ties to the family and food and our relationship with it, while still technically just being a Yuri slice of life for those who haven't read it.

Hetalia was so good, probably an inspiration for a lot of webcomics, since was originally published on 2006 (aparently when the mangaka was studying abroad in the States), and its still publishing and popular.

Nice to see it mentioned in the video, Hetalia its sadly becoming kinda niche.
