HELP!!! - Mikuni Vm22 Tuning on Predator 212

I had an air leak between carb & engine this past weekend make sure you’re screws are tight & set needles at factory setting then re adjust in small increments

Install bigger jets .. they typically have 95-98 from factory put 125-130 and re tune

Everyone says 125 and it make it lean js rock a 120 main jet….Close air fuel mixture screw then turn 1 n 3/4 n open idle so I idle fast with close but Normal with it open

I was having the same problem. I ordered a pilot jet from Go power sport size 20. And changed the main jet to 125.

Try adjusting the needle on you’re slide, should have a little tab with 5 different positions I believe higher on the needle is less fuel lower is more fuel, it sounds like when you crank the throttle it’s choking out on too much air, if you pull the spark plug that will confirm if you’re running rich or lean just compensate for however the plug looks. I’d try this first, it’s much easier than playing with jets

Check the gasket from the intake to the carb the o ring might not be seated right

Put a 110 main jet and you needle there is a clip that holds it in and remove and this is a tiny clip on the needle and you need to put that tiny clip on the furthest notch down then back your air fuel screw out a little

Had that when I threw on there a new VM22 but all I had to do was put a 110# jet and tune it just a bit and now it’s good

Need a bigger main jet go with a 125 and you probably want to replace the pilot jet with a #20 pilot. Btw what frame is that?

Yeah also 110 to 120 jet if it's a 212 predator and pilot jet needs to be around 35 to 40 I should say and adjust the jet and air flow screw while it's on

Open the carb on the bottom it's a flat head screw give u more gas flow even then if itd it's not that take out the pin in the carb and lower the t
Little disc that clamps on to the pin lower so it raises the needle aloeing more and better throttle response and air to gas mixture will be better

Check coil spark plug wire that could be a problem not getting the right timing

Turn screw with spring on it that’s on the carburetor to the right till it starts idling

I just had that problem mind wasn’t getting gas so I had to clean the carb out float

you can get the carb to a good idol and then just tighten the throttle cable just a bit and then she will be riipin.

What jet size do you have and what slot are you set in and what is your elevation from sea level?

Mess with the idle a bit, should solve it
