Its incredibly useful. i remember driving a shitty automatic where reverse was all or nothing, making backing into docks a nightmare. This level of control would be very welcome

It’s also silent. If someone hollers or just speaks normally, you can hear the caution or directions. This is very useful!

I hope this feature finds its way into the pickup refit kit.

Ahhhh, when real truckers build real trucks. So nice to see. I can think of a few job sites off the top of my head where I'd have used this.

That's a great feature, don't downplay it. Even for a regular guy backing down a boat ramp. If i could press a button for a set backing speed, that would be awesome. As long as it was programmed ti cancel with brake input, or a self cancel when shifted to another gear. Honestly, press a button to reverse a trailer only worry about braking, that's a game changer.

Why not, instead of having a backup creep button, just having a dedicated "Creep mode" button. Something that would allow for a small amount of movement, say up to 3mph but still modulatable by the pedal.

That would allow you to get even tinier movements while also making it so that of you hit that bump it might only go up to the speed you're showing here

I think an interesting feature could be a button to change the throttle mapping to be far more precise. Like pushing the throttle all the way down in this mode would only max you out at 15 kph.

This way you can creep forward and backward with similar controls

Test it on a hill with a load, if it actually works then it is 100% useful in pretty much any trucking scenario I can think of. A lot of factorys here have a speed limit in the place and some places have stuff designed to roll over to get into the factory or truck bay. That consistent reverse speed would be so useful

No idea how useful it would be in a logging senario but as someone who does box work i would kill for something like this, the slightest deformity in the ground sends you into interminable shakes that sends your shit flying.

Definitely looks useful to me!
Some steam locomotives have something similar called a “drifting valve, ” which applies a small, controlled flow of steam to allow the engine to ”drift around” slowly

I would consider this a safety feature. The amount of times I have seen a trucker standing on his step with the door open to get a better view then diving back into the truck to hit the break is insane.

I want the reverse button on my pickup truck conversion kit!!! It’ll be so helpful backing in my camp trailer.

That’s a great idea..but move the switch/button to somewhere more ergonomic…can’t imagine having to hold a switch with one hand, while watching mirrors and using the steering wheel all at once . maybe a toggle switch that would turn the accelerator pedal into an inching pedal, with forward and reverse option.

Often wondered why nobody's integrated a remote control specifically for backing. Surely it'd be easy enough for smart guys like you!

I’m a crane operator, and we drive really big heavy vehicles. Backing up on job sites with uneven terrain, going over curbs, etc; this would be awesome.

Also important to mention how much it costs to add the feature - a few $ for extra wiring, a little more for the button... probably didn't cost much to program and that is a one time cost. Worth it.

This is such a cool idea guys. Watching yall come up with neat new thing and bring them into the world is deeply inspiring to me and my work. Thank you and keep on truckin lads!

I'm super liking the practical buttons. Less fumbling through menu's for things that your really need RIGHT NOW. Would also be nice to mimic the real world buttons on a screen in the display so if a real world button fails, you can still find the feature in the menu.

Super useful, especially on rough/choppy terrain.

I had a driver on a jobsite with a roll back trying to get a generator around the back where I needed it. It was a bit of camber on rough dirt between the building and a connex with a 90 degree turn. He had an auto with sometype of centrifugal clutch or torque converter. T
It needed revs to engage then it was like 10 mph or more. A nice steady reverse speed and low torque he could have hit it first try and no danger to the building! I can't wait for the day i see an edison truck on site!
