How to reverse a ceiling fan with no switch on motor.

Reverse ceiling fan direction using your remote. Some fans have no switch on motor. Easy if you know how. The button you hold down is the “ON” button on remote while flipping the wall switch off then back on. Then let go of the “ON” button on remote.

*Love it! Keeps the room very **Fastly.Cool** . The manual states it comes with a year warranty and 5 year part replacement. The compressor makes the typical sound...small price to pay for AC.*

WOW!! THANK YOU!! I've tried over a dozen times to try and figure out reversing the fan on my ceiling fan, and nothing ever worked!!! 10 seconds after trying your instructions - VOILA! Was able to change the fan direction!! Thank you!!!

The cleaning ladies accidentally switched this and I was mystified FOR TWO EFFING HOURS about where the button was, and which combination of buttons to hit on the remote.

One 30 second video from 7 years ago saved me. Unreal! Thanks for posting.

Just what I was looking for. A quick no bullshit answer on how to do somethings without going into the inner workings of a problem. Thanks

For those with a reverse button in the battery compartment and no 'on button', only speeds and a 'stop'. I did this trick while holding the 'stop' button and my fan beeped and reset back to correct rotation. Thanks Op.

We don't have a switch or remote. We found that flipping the wall on/off switch very rapidly (with conviction) the fan will slow and begin to rotate the other way.

We've had to do do this twice and it has worked. Found this answers after hours of digging through the internet. So I'm leaving this comment here in case it helps someone else!

I tried this instruction for 10 minutes using a universal remote that looks identical to the one in the video. Did NOT work on my fan. But in reading the comments I found what did. Press the LOW and the OFF button both at the same time and then only let off of the OFF button and I heard a click and the fan slowed down and reversed!! Yayyyy

This literally blew my mind. Thank you so much! My family always reverses it and I always have the most difficult time switching it back. Again, thank you!!!

Thank you, Sir
I have been fighting and hunting for the right remote with reverse, for this fan for some time now. I moved it from the living room and lost the remote.
Thank you, thank you, and thank you
God bless

Worked for me first try - thank you. Spent hours today cleaning out the dust on top of the fan motor, using a mirror and flashlight trying to find a reverse switch. My ceiling fan is an old Hampton Bay fan from Home Depot. There is no reverse switch.

- I’ve been going back to this video for years. For me I have to have the light on and hold high-speed button down. Work perfectly thank you

A big thank you out to Trace for his video. I'd spent a couple hours with the manufacturer who was clueless and then I went to Google and I finally found a link to this. Hoooray! Worked perfectly!

This video was the only thing I found on this subject. It worked! Thanks. Mine was a little different- same thing, but I had to use the fan on/off button for my Hunter fan. But it worked, and that’s awesome.
