Aesthetic Cognitivism is a theory about the value of the arts as sources of understanding—the arts as more than sources of delight, amusement, pleasure, or emotional catharsis (though they can certainly be all of these). Excellent show.. A simple question, WHY do so many philosophers deny the power of scientific materialism for understanding consciousness?

I think there is a spectrum between subjectivity and objectivity, and arts falls closer to the subjective side, where it is relative only to the observer and cannot ever be completely explained by science because there is not just one correct answer... although you can talk about anything scientifically

Why does contemporary philosophy feel so empty? Is the lack of an empirical emphasis?

Mr Kuhn
I admire your couriosity greatly! Might I suggest you check out a youtube channel called 'Cosmic Agency' ? Made by a woman called Gosia.
It has a lot of information on subjects you seek out. Detailed information. Mind expanding. Along the lines of questioning and answers of your 'Closer to Truth' series, I enjoy so much. I truly do not think you would be wasting your time.
Blessings

Anything can be explained by science. Except why people care what happens to the planet long after their dead. Just like Einstein said both perspective are right, rather it makes sense or not.
