The Pride Of Flint, Michigan ! They sang of being an American band in a scene dominated by British bands at the time. Absolutely incredible drummer 🥁 ! Long Live Rock & Roll 🎸

"He's like crunchy toast with melted butter on top" Great description of Mark Farner

Maybe the best hard rock American band ever! Timeless music with very deep blues driven lyrics, should have been in hall of fame 35 years ago!

The crazy thing is they played every song with this type of intensity for three hours every night. The ultimate road warriors. There will never be another GFR!!.

Grand Funk Railroad is a great American rock band who achieved their peak in popularity during the 1970's. "I'm Your Captain (Closer to Home)" is one of my favorites. But they had a lot of great hits such as "We're An American Band", "The Loco-Motion", "Walk Like A Man", "Shinin' On", "Some Kind Of Wonderful", "Bad Time" etc.

I saw Grant Funk Railroad do this in concert at Kansas City in 1970. They were hugely popular at the time. So much energy!

Grand Funk Railroad was the first band I ever saw live. It was 1971 at the Hollywood Sportatorium and I was 14. To this day it was the greatest rock and roll show I've ever seen.

Take a little bit of Funk and a little bit of Rock and Roll and you get Grand Funk Railroad! "Some Kind of Wonderful"

It’s great to see a much younger person enjoy what I did when I was in high school. I’m 69 now, ‘73 grad.

They should be in the rock Hall of Fame.

Grew up on GFR. Such power and just three guys. Played their ass off on this one.

If you like Bass ad Drums, then check out 'Some Kind of Wonderful" because it is just Bass and Drums, and call and response vocals between Mark Farner (Guitarist) and Don Brewer (Drummer), until they add some organ when they take you to church at the end.
