Just a quick caveat to be aware of, re: Macs with the M1 chip. My comment is specific re: Audition, as that’s what I use, although the issue would (I believe) exist with the other DAWs, if not the workaround.
The plug-ins from Izotope and Waves (perhaps other companies as well) will not work with the new Mac M1 chip. To use them, you need to open Audition in Intel emulation mode, else the plug-in will not work.
They are a bit clunkier in this mode than with the previous Intel based Mac (pre-M1), but still work wonders.
Hopefully, the plug-ins will be updated some day so they will play nicely with the M1 chip.
I was trying to post a screen shot, but can’t, so…To open in Intel emulation, from Creative Cloud home, click the three dots next to Audition “open” button. Choose “Open (Intel)” from the drop down.
And yes, Audition rocks!

Pro-Tools is what I used to do film sound editing and mixing. So powerful, I didn't know there's a light version I might try that...

Thanks for breaking down the different DAWS. I have audacity currently as I'm just starting out. Is your platinum membership group newbie friendly?

Quick question:
In your opinion is it worth buying a brand new condenser microphone or can I be successful with a used one from the pawn shop do you think- is it mainly a cleanliness/ germs thing/ are they that fragile and prone to breaking?

Hi Angela, great video on DAWS. Can you tell me what computer is easiest for audiobook narration? What do you use? Thanks Pam

Hi everybody. Ive been flirting with narrating an audiobook (not for a client) and the only computer I have with sufficient software for this type of work is an old Lenova Pc with the full Adobe CS3 lineup. So Premiere Pro and Soundbooth Cs3 are available on there. Can I manage good results with these older versions?

Hi Angela! I'm just getting started, and have been recording books on YouTube and Twitch to get practice/for fun. I've noticed my recordings don't have the same bass richness that yours do, and I was wondering if that's due largely to my mic. I'm using a Yeti Nano USB, and I was wondering if XLR is what makes that difference. I recently set up blackout curtains and acoustic paneling, so as far as I can tell I don't have major reverb issues.

Hi, Angela. I've discovered your channel a couple a weeks ago. Just lurking around and now a subscriber. I've been doing all kinds of research since signing up with ACX. I have to ask is Wavepad good one? I have wavepad and its works for me. Also when audition for narration do you pick a niche or when a book is interesting to you?
