I would go a step further and also determine where you are comfortable with compromising. Basically, understanding your deal breakers vs. your wiggle room.

For my experience, when two people really love each other they will always find a way to meet their needs, support each other and make compromises. Both of them. Whoever don't do these things, he is not in love. He is only using the other person for a temporary company because he/she doesn't want to feel alone

I just learned this for the first time about compatibility vs love. Things just ended with someone I was seeing, sadly I was the one who wouldn’t commit in this story. But we both loved eachother a lot, there were just aspects of his lifestyle I was trying to get past but couldn’t and felt bogged down cause I didn’t want to make a choice, feeling like love should be enough. It got to the point where I felt like it was draining me and (by my own doing and choosing to hold on) and my life felt bleak. I didn’t want to let this person go that i had such a great connection and love with and was plagued by why it didn’t feel completely right or all in if I felt so much love for him. I ignored my intuition, how could it be wrong if it felt so loving and sweet? In the small bit of space I’ve had from this situation already I see all the ways in which we weren’t actually compatible, despite the emotions. Moving forward I’ll be able to recognize this off the bat and prevent less time and heart ache if this happens again. You want what you feel in your heart to be enough but in truth there is more the the equation of a relationship. And maybe with the right person there are some incompatibilities you can work thru but I think they are a powerful compass if you’re finding discord and doubt in a connection.
