"Use Case" is everything, though if you've never had one, you may find your expected use case is not necessarily how you end up using it.
My wife ordered two iPad minis when it was first announced because her eyesight was failing and it was getting difficult fro her to see her phone. She liked that she could hold it easily in one hand because she wanted it so we could FaceTime to each other when she was on dialysis. But she died the next day so I cancelled the order.
When the Swift programming language was announced at WWDC, they also released the language manual as a free ebook. But I had inherited my wife's iPhone 4s and I didn't think it was big enough to read an ebook comfortably on.
I got the new iPad mini with Retina display (iPad mini 2), with the maximum 256GB storage because I expected to load it up with ebooks and magazines to read on the bus. I liked that with a notebook cover it looked very much like a Kindle like a lot of other people on the bus had. I didn't want to look like That Guy with an iPad.
I LOVE the iPad mini. I particularly liked that it's about the size of a letter-sized piece of paper folded in half. That's my favorite notebook size.
It's CRAZY portable, big enough, but never too big. it will fit easily in my jacket pocket.
When I moved in with my mom to help take care of her, we set up a camera in her bedroom and used the iPad as a monitor. When my sisters came over to give me a break so I could go shopping, they texted me to ask the PIN for the iPad because it had timed out. Touch ID and Face ID wouldn't have helped in that case.
But last fall the physical button on my iPad mini broke so I'm looking to replace it.
I decided long ago that my next iPad will have cellular connectivity. Wi-Fi is a lot of places, but it's not ubiquitous.
I used my iPhone as a hotspot a couple of times but that was almost more trouble than it was worth.
The iPad mini 6 checks ALL my boxes, but you forgot to mention the choice of COLORS. I want a purple one.
Of course the iPad mini 6 is also getting just a bit long in the tooth.
With my larger iPhone I find I don't miss my iPad so much. I'm fine waiting to see what they announce for the next one. It ALWAYS pays to wait for new technology.
My sister got an iPad Pro when it was first released. She's a teacher and wanted to use it as a more portable computer. 13" seemed enormous, but again, that's about the size of a full sheet of letter sized paper.
But this was before iPadOS and she found that she couldn't buy textbooks on her iPad Pro because the website required you to purchase using a "real computer."
I guess that's all solved now. When they mentioned the 13" iPad Air I thought that's the iPad for me, but the iPad mini is my priority because it really does better-fit my use case.

Use phone hotspot as a wifi. No need for cellular

The points you made were great. Just a couple of corrections: Both the iPad Pro M4 and Air M2 only have 1 rear-facing camera, since the ultra wide was removed from the Pro this year. Also, they both have the same amount of RAM, 8GB, unless you upgrade the Pro to 1TB or 2TB of storage, then you get 16GB of RAM. Therefore, performance should absolutely NOT be the deciding factor between the two. Even side by side it's barely noticeable. People should get the Pro if they want the better screen, speakers and Face ID, otherwise the Air is a better buy. The real world performance differences between different M chips on iPadOS is so minimal that people considering the M2 Air should, in my opinion, get a refurbished M1 Pro, that way they get all of those 3 things (120 hz no matter the size and Mini LED with the 12.9", quad-speakers and Face ID) for about the same price, and they can also get the Apple Pencil 2 and previous Magic Keyboard at a discount.

Thanks for the info! I totally replaced my laptop and desktop with an iPad Pro 2 years ago. I got rid of both the laptop and desktop. I use my iPad all day, every day for work. Haven’t found anything lacking for me personally. I also have an IPad mini that I carry in place of my Pro when I simply want a smaller version to pack. Perfect setup for me! Never looked back.

This was excellent, informative, and timely-thank you. For me, I’m opting for iPad Pro M4 11 inch
512 go with CELLULAR makes the most sense.

This was super helpful. I was considering the I Pad Pro m4 but it is so expensive. Now I think I will buy the M2 Air 13 inch with wifi and cellular. At the lower price I can get the keyboard as well.

I got the 13 inch but honestly I think I need to switch things up and go back to the 11 inch especially since the screens are the same now.

I will be a complete online college student. My plan is to watch lectures, take notes, add notes to the given power points, submit assignments, emails, and discussion boards. I also would ideally like to take notes while watching the lectures at the same time. What would you iPad (model and size) and storage would you recommend?

I ordered the iPad Air M2 13 inch today. Mine is the very first iPad Air model so I am moving from that to this new one. It's going to be a world of difference.

For a person who donot have an iPad and want to consider an iPad, which one will be worth to have?
iPad M2 pro or iPad Air M2 or iPad M4 pro ? And what size & how much storage would be apt?

I got the 10th gen for reading and watching media and it’s been wonderful. I wouldn’t have paid the original price, but $329 was well worth it. I have the m2 MacBook Air for anything that requires power.

I has the iPad 8 but then I upgraded to the iPad 10 and it’s the cell model I got it through my carrier for only $195! And I love the new iPad 10 and when the electric goes out my iPad is the only way I can get internet connection when my electric goes off

Thank you very much for your video. This has been really informative and gave me some practical advice. I think I will stick with the 11" size and consider cellular.

Purchased a brand new iPad months ago, $1400, it never worked, to many attempts to enter Apple ID, experts now tell me that it is junk, it will never work now.
