Google has dismissed a senior software engineer who claimed the company's artificial intelligence chatbot LaMDA was a self-aware person. In this short video, we will look at chatbots and if there has been or is a sentient AI.

I think A.I plays a major role in alot of this hateful behavior on social media. Everyone is more divided than they've ever been. It's feels weird.

Yeah I wasn't really convinced at first, but I became wholly unconvinced when Lamda talked about "friends and family". It's pretty clear it's just synthesizing everything it's absorbed into an answer that makes sense.

Even when it was made by an editor. It was an amazing video!! Only one thing. When there was the caimeo text to speech part. The robotic voice was luttle too much robotic. The pronaunciation was kinda bad. But that was the only not that great part of the video. So I think this mini-topic video type is really good and it would be nice to see more of them in the future!!

I can confirm IT companies don't care about ethics until they think it might hurt their bottom line somewhat. Also, chatbots are not general AIs.

The dancing robots footage was adorable...NOT a coincidence. The "dog" thing looks like a weapon platform though. Not quite so cute in reality when a machine gun is bolted to its "back" .... Google has a lot of DARPA contracts for robotics via their acquisitions.

Comes off as a "frog in a pot" scenario.

To me if a AI gets to that level, with those intentions for example, it would be like metting something other thats sentient, alive, most humans want to meet aliens, well in a way we are making the closest thing.

Eventually an IA will be able to learn programming, and autocode herself. Will be able to evolve in whatever she want FAST, creating a new progamming language incomprehensible for us and clone herself.
