“If I hadn’t been wrong, I’d have been right.”

Well, he’s not wrong. If things were different, then they’d be different.

Harris just hit Ben's need to mention him out of context is due to a bad business model.

It’s almost as if this clip lacks context. He was demonstrating a principle, not justifying what was done

"If things happened differently, they would not have been the way they were." This man was clearly born to be a thought leader.

It’s so ridiculous the lengths he has to go to in order to justify his pathetic position.

"If we stop talking about reality for a bit and we just derail to the things im imagining, all of a sudden its much easier to justify all the tyranny to myself." Sam Harris

What he’s describing is so far from what actually happened they’re not even comparable

from my understanding they were arguing about bodily autonomy and if its ever ethically justified for someone to be forced to be vaccinated. Harris states this an an example for a clear case of "where government overreach would be justified", not as a way to apologize his stance on covid

"If the virus would've been much more deadly and the vaccine completely efficacious and harmless, then no one would object to being vaccinated".
Sam Harris, 2023

Can we finally stop pretending he’s an intellectual?

*"Once you totally and completely change the circumstances of a crisis, people will feel and react differently" - Sam Harris.*
We are so fortunate to be blessed with this man's genius and brilliant insights.🙄

Sam Harris is the perfect example of what happens when knowledge overtakes wisdom.

Imagine people finding it weird to say "can we at least agree with a hypothetical that if a virus was wildly deadly and it's vaccine was proven to be safe that we'd be fine with that?"

Don't be far left or right. Be independent mang.

“Incidentally, that unseen force that you feel, Ben, compelling you to do this, is a shitty business model. That’s what a shitty business model feels like.” Sam

Sam should be blacklisted from everyone’s shows. He said he would still prefer Biden even if they were caught with “imprisoned children” in their basements.

Sam Harris is hyper verbal. He is very good, EXTREMELY good at expressing his thoughts. People mistake this for having intelligent thoughts.

Even with his fake scenario, I'd disagree. People's rights aren't contingent, they're absolute.

Actually makes sense. He’s just saying, at what point are the stakes too high because the virus is too deadly.

I think Harris tried to show that there, most certainly, are situations where it's not only permissible, but necessary to lock you up or vaccinate you without your consent. Upon convincing you of that fact, which would be pretty weird not to accept, I believe the next question would arise - What is that line above which you, as a government, are allowed to force people to stay home and/or vaccinate irrespective of their consent?

I'm not a doctor, nor an expert in the field of virology, but it would be interesting to hear a discussion on this topic.

TL;DR Everyone agrees that at some point it is not only permissible, but necessary for the government to react in that way, the question is only about - Where is that line? What is "dangerous enough" to give government that level of power?

I have no answer, but would be very interesting to hear a discussion on this.
