Oh god, who did the polishing on that watch? You should complain..

yes - the time keeping and accuracy of my Datejust 41 is hilarious - put it into a watch winder next to my JLC for 1 week and the difference is scary

So I bought a brand new sub date about 6 years ago. When I got it, I’m assuming some paint from the date wheel got scraped off and ended up on the dial because there was this small while flake on the dial and it was running about 6 seconds a day slow. I brought it in for warranty and they sent it in, they kept it for about 4 months. When I got it back the white thing was gone from the dial BUT the time wasn’t fixed. So a couple months later I brought it back in and they sent it back in and two months later I got it back and it has been running within one second a day since. I’ve been very happy since however just last year I broke the pip off the watch and brought it in, I paid for the pip but it was just within the warranty so they overhauled the movement for free. No polish for me though.

Yes my sub bluesy was way slow. Kept it for two years before trading it in. Also the dealer said during the inspection they were going to have to have it serviced before selling it. I didn’t doubt it especially with the crown loosing its smoothness. I wasn’t impressed with the quality.

I bought an Air King at the end of 2023, 3 months later I had it sent to service because the crown would get stuck. The service was covered by Rolex and the watch works fine now. But I can relate when you say your first Rolex purchase had been smoother.
The is a great and is hard to put down.

Whoever polished your lugs destroyed them. As a sub owner myself this breaks my heart 😢. They look so melted and blunt 😭

Was this polish done by Rolex?

Looks badly polished - no sharp edges on case, bezel and bracelet.

It’s always like this, we build it up in the hopes of this magical experience and it inevitably disappoints when a man made product can and does have an issue or the sales consultant doesn’t treat you with the experience you hoped for or they push back etc. The reward was the process of being able to get there really and then when you have bought several pieces from the same person or AD they treat you far better only then to keep your business. To me the watch is the reward for the beauty and statement it serves as a reminder for and the rest immaterial sadly.

After nearly a 3 year wait, I bought a Rolex Deep Sea from my local AD. Within 4 months it simply stopped. It was sent to Dallas for repairs by my AD and was out of my hands for nearly 3 months. It was pretty disappointing. It received a full movement service. No problems since, but this shook my confidence in the brand.

I have had 5 Rolexes. Three were terrible. These 3 were all from ADs. First an Explorer. That had a problem with the dial. Three visits to the service centre, as particles got into the movement from the deteriorating bezel. Eventually they just gave me a Submariner as I didn't have the watch for 7 months. That had movement problems, which Rolex blamed on new staff. They took that back, and once again gave me a Pepsi. Obviously I want to keep that, but it's been back to the service centre a couple of times. The other two were vintage purchases, and they were fine, as it goes, but not particularly well made. Clanky wearing super quickly bracelets, and not really that accurate. I have many other watches, and have only ever sent one watch back (Omega), for service within the guarantee period. So now I have a Pepsi, that I never wear, as I know it's possibly about to explode. I spend a lot of time in Cities, so now I have various Pelagos's, as they are tough as old boots, I can wear them everyday, and no one gives them any attention. I am fully over Rolex. Sick of their poor quality, and the AD bu{{$hit. The management don't care. The staff pretend to care. They just love taking the p•§§ out of people coming in, trying to buy a watch. It's a company rotten to the core, drunk on it's marketing success from long ago. If you buy one, you're a mug!

Sadly not surprising from what I've learned. Movement issues with the 32xx series is all too common with what owners say on the Rolex forums and also according to a local watch maker who services a lot of Rolex watches

I have the same sub and runs +1 sec per day. It’s hard to go back for my seiko’s -35 secs a day, it’s purely a wrist decor now.

What is going on with the crown side of that case? It looks like someone hamfisted a bevel an “polished” that side

I’m dealing with this right now, except with Tudor

I give you a lot of credit for being able to tell the watch was off by 1 minute. I don't think I'd ever catch that.

In December 2023 I get the call for gmt root beer I was so excited. only 2 months later I decided to take my watch out and throw it on I started to set the time on 3 position crown it got a little friction then I felt small ping which setting the minute hand and the watch stopped working I was so upset after using the watch 2 times, went back to the ad and waited 3 mouths to get fixed the most anxiety I ever have while waiting and the watch came back to me with some light scratches and they removed all my watch films I have installed luckily I the kit I bought came with spares

Yes, but mine Sub went to service like 3 times by RSC before it finally settled down to cosc, it was frustrating as i bought new from AD and had to wait like almost half a year. It was older 114060 though

I've never had a problem in 46 years with all the Rolex models I've owned. They're a proper watch.
