Thank you very much for this easy-to-understand tutorial. Before discovering your video, I tried using an online service which supposedly converts images to the HEIC format. However, after supposedly converting the file for me, and downloading it to my hard drive, I discovered that neither Preview, nor Photoshop, could open the file on my iMac. As it turns out, that website actually converts images to HEIF, and NOT to HEIC. That is why both Preview and Photoshop complained that the file was damaged, or was in a format that they did not understand. In contrast, I carefully followed the steps you outlined, and it worked perfectly! So again, thank you for taking the time to share this useful knowledge with us!
