The Hellriegel 1915 in Less Than 60 Seconds | Battlefield 1

In reality, the Hellriegel 1915 never reached the frontlines of the war and was an experimental weapon that failed to pass prototype staging. DICEs interpretation of the little information we have regarding the weapon resulted in a SMG firing at 650 RPM from a 60 round drum magazine. While its reload isn’t particularly quick, with a 3.75 second tactical and 4.5 second empty reload, it is respectable considering the high magazine capacity of the weapon.

The Hellriegel is available in both a Factory and Defensive variant, with the Defensive adding an optic sight, bipod and increasing the magazine capacity to 120 round in exchange for higher recoil.

Use the Hellriegel 1915 to defend the frontlines with BF1s original tryhard weapon… before it was power crept out of the meta by the SMG 08/18.

Battlefield 1 is a first-person shooter game developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. I still miss the old SMG 08. Slower fire rate and a big mag gave it a nice niche for range in the assault category

Just a little fun fact: There's a really odd Storm variant of the Hellriegel in Battlefield 1's campaign, it comes with a buckhorn sight, very high magnification, and presumably has less recoil.

There's also a very rare M.95 Sniper variant that appears in the second mission of The Runner's story, it lacks a bipod, and ammunition is (from my experience) incredibly low. I don't really understand its significance, but it's interesting.

They literally had to make up a non existant functioning of the weapon because no example of this hyper rare thing exists to draw on .And yet they added it .

This gun IRL is barely existent in the modern day, only have some relatively crisp picture of the weapon in action and disassembled. It shares a similar story to the SMG 08/18. DICE did a good job with it's implementation in-game, but I think it would have been better fit as an LMG due to magazine being this cumbersome drum. Also, it did come with stick mags that probably carried 20-30 rounds. Still, the creation was well interpreted and allowed DICE to get creative with guns that seem like needles in a needle stack.

I Started with The Hellriegel, I used the defensive one throughout all the years, NEVER have I used another primary outside of looking at new skins or challenges, I love that gun and always will

The old smg08/18 was perfect. Low rpm and decent spread with large mag was assaults "lmg". It did not need an rpm boost with 0 downsides.
