This is why my son and I did a complete overhaul on our 1954 Farmall Super M MTA, We can work on it and it does everything we need.

This is why I purchased 2 LS Tractors. They were $8, 500 less money, with double the lift capacity, plus Deere ruined themselves when Ag Pro came along. They destroyed the Mom and Pop dealerships. The salesmen at Ag Pro are very arrogant and rude.

The shareholder is the customer. The farmer is the revenue source

Hey Hank! You don't have to get political for people to know the madness going on in our government and large corporations that are crippling our society! Thanks man.

I purchased a 5100M cab air 4 wheel drive with front end loader in April of 2014 that tractor cost me $72, 000. Today that same exact tractor is $108, 000. Same dealership and same salesman. Small farmers and ranchers can't afford these high prices.

John Deere is not complaining about emissions equipment-it is making them richer. One of the main objectives of big business is to maximize profits to keep shareholders happy.

Hank as a retired Union worker this is sad news but seems to be the trend today. Over the last 25 years that I worked at my job we had to go on strike for better wages two times 15 years apart. It was very sad to be told by the ceo that we weren't worth the money that we were being paid. One senior person said at the bargaining table said, "We could be replaced by monkeys". We just wanted a cost of living increase to bring our wages up $1.00 over the course 5 years. Not huge but something.
And over that time frame the CEO and Board of directors set new records every year for the bonuses they gave each other at the end of the year, The bonuses were stock and cash. Where does it end? Almost everyone of the people on the board were ceo's of and coo's of other companies, and when you checked their boards most of the same people were on their board of directors. It just doesn't seem fair. america has changed like you said, and it is not for the better for all but just a few.

I try to buy American made products when ever possible. But we do have an overbearing government that is destroying our manufacturing base along with greedy corporations.

When you make a tractor for 15, 000.00 and ask 55, 000.00, the ceo gets 5, 100.00 dollars or more. That is going the wrong way .

Don't blame it all on just corporate. Unions play a very large part of these American companies leaving America. It's started with Nixon going to China for becoming a trading partner and creating a world trade system that American labor is handcuffed because of the cost of labor. The same thing happened with cnh is also moving many jobs out of the USA. Unions need to start getting real with how much money is enough. Unions kill great companies with greed but they want to say that it's the companies that are greedy not them. JD has so many costs of doing business that many of these union people have no clue in what are costs that they continue to have to pay for. There's a reason why corporations need to make large profits to stay in business.

I couldn't agree more. Our politicians have forgotten why they were elected and that was to represent us. Any more it just seems to be about them and how much power they can achieve for themselves. There is a large share I them whom have never started and ran a business that employed anybody, and when they say they have created jobs for the American people well that's just a lie. Business owners create jobs and pay the wages not the government. let's face it when was the last time the government did ANYTHING EFFICENTLY, I would hazard a guess never. They tell us we voluntarily pay taxes but just try not paying taxes and see where that gets you. I think people have to get better informed and start electing people that hopefully could get our country in a better way, we've seemed to have lost our way. And it's not just John Deere it's a lot of Hugh companies doing it for cheaper labor and supposedly to keep costs down but the prices seem to keep rising anyway and the quality of many products keep falling.

You’re right. We are losing manufacturing jobs all across the country. Sad state of affairs. The price of tractors is absolutely crazy and with more farms/ranches going under it’s hard to make it. Prayers go out to those families impacted.

Pre pandemic (or at start.forgot) I bought a new 5045E open station and a new 5075E with cab and air with loader. Current 2024 prices are $30, 000.00 MORE than what I paid 3? years ago (with the discounts I got). That is insane.

More the career government employees in the alphabet agencies than the politicians. Cut the agencies by 80% and the work could still be accomplished at less cost

I know how they feel. My spouse and I were caught in the Clinton administration and loss our jobs at 50 years old. Had to start another career. Now that was tough to salvage what we had. We tighten our belts and move on during Bush Administration. Then we thought it was getting better until we lost the rest of our savings late in Obama administration. Tightening harder. It got better during Trump administration. Had to retire at 70. Then Biden. He took the rest. Now at 75. My wife just passed away at 74. Clinton pull this same trick to get re-elected. Biden is pulling the wool over everyone eyes. The KJV bible teaches us to be careful of the sheep dressed in wolf’s clothing. I have to remind my self everyday that God also tell us he want put more on us than we can bare. The USA does need to be concerned about the party they elect. The democrats tare down. It take a Republican now to build back. Thanks, enjoy your videos, have a blessed day. MAGA

I see similar stories like this every day. Workers unionize or strike and the business/company either shuts down or lays people off and move the work elsewhere. I don't know if worker demands are too high, or if companies/corporations are just being "too stingy". My feeling is that there was a time when we needed unions, but that time has passed. That's just my opinion.

The other thing that kills jobs is all of the regulations. They not only kill jobs, but also make things much more expensive for the average consumer. A very good example is the requirement for DEF and the need for a motor to do a "re-gen" cycle. It not only burns more fuel needlessly, but it also increases the cost for the owner to operate his/her equipment.
