They're meant to be legwarmers. All of the pictures Mattel has of them had them on the legs over their second pairs of shoes. It even shows them on their legs in the little paper panflet that comes with the box that shows every inside.

The fact that the stand needs the box is frustrating. I don't have that much room on my shelf

they were meant to be legwarmers for the ballet warm-up set because you have mix and match outfits and if you had a show you wouldn't wear your costume to rehearsing you'd wear warm-up clothes. Their legwarmers are not meant to be worn in the arms and it kinda looks silly but OK.

It bothers me that the stands are connected to somthing so big and clunky, I don't want them to take up all that space on display

I love the set, but honestly, I feel like they should have included a simple leotard to at least go under the tights, skirt and corset. It feels busy honestly and I think all the outfits would look so much better if they included a simple leotard to balance things out but that’s just me anyone have any other thoughts instead of mine? ❤
