How to build trust with clients

Building trust with your clients is the best way to get repeat business and maintain happy customers. A lot of people are afraid to give out all the information they know. I think people have it mixed up. Here's my thoughts on how to build trust with your clients.

I've helped my plastic surgery practice client buy gear and showed them how to set it up and use it. They wanted to start a youtube channel and post to instagram. They know that they won't get my level of quality, but they do send them to me to edit and I charge them my hourly editing rate. When they need bigger stuff, they call me. Trust built!

I am in a networking group, and I started the process of training them to do their own video during my 10-minute presentation yesterday because of this video. I even recommended camera gear. Since then, 3/20 have contacted me about doing work for them! Thanks, Scott!

Yep, I get it. I already provide video training to big companies. But you know what?... staff turnover means nobody sticks around long enough for them to get the volume of quality content they need.
I also think, and this dangerous to say without sounding like you're mocking people who don't do this for a living, that good video production is something that's either 'in you' or its not. Some people will never make great videos because they either don't have your passion or depth of skills and experience.

My background as a musician and audio producer has given me skills I apply to video production that would take people years to develop.
So I agree, I don't think you're kiiling your business by training clients how to do what you do... they'll still need you.
