This could possibly go higher...

When a monster receives the "defense down attack" from Barnos/Deviljho/Acidic Glavenus you'll see something like a de-buff on it (looks like white smoke coming out from their body). That probably means those attack could also weaken the defense of monsters and at least make a difference.

Should be worth a shot IMO.
