Help me make more cheesy content:

Today, the amount of fitness products out there is astronomical. With health and fitness being perpetually in the forefront of desired achievements, it becomes quite easy for companies in this industry to advertise and sell you all kinds of fitness-related items like fitness accessories like ab rollers, fitness/workout equipment stationary cycles, fitness supplements like protein powder, and fitness clothing like compression sleeves.

But have you ever wondered... how exactly useful are these products really? If we look into the scientific literature, how many of these products actually provide any meaningful benefit to our health and fitness? Unfortunately, it seems that many products are much more hype than helpful, and in this video, we're going to talk about some of the most popular fitness products that are simply not worth the money.

Along with pure ability, weightlifting is STRONGLY psychological. If you think something is helping you, you will do better with the task. There is a lot of placebo effect in the fitness world.

My girlfriend said I can't throw the massage gun for some reason. Guess I'll have to keep it.

I’m a home gym guy and that’s a whole other can of worms. There always seems to be a pair of dumbbells in a weight I don’t have, or a cable attachment, or a cross training item I think is going to add a dimension to my training that I really don’t need.!

With premium message guns, you do want to get a good enough one where the motor doesn’t burn out or battery rapidly decay. And slight muscle soreness improvement is worth a lot.

Useful, concise, and grounded as always.

So I know they are your opinion, but I enjoy using my compression sleeves to keep the swelling down. I do BJJ/Running/Lifting and a bunch of sports and i notice a personal difference of how I feel after. Now granted it may not help during, but the lack of pain after is worth it to me

I'll never really know if the L-Citrulline, Betaine Anhydrous, or Beta Alanine are doing anything helpful, but at least by mixing my own preworkout I can dose them at the theoretical ideal and independent of my caffeine, and only spend pennies a day. If nothing else, the Beta Alanine tingles keep me from getting distracted.

When I had my tenis elbow due to me spamming planche, the compression sleeve helped me a lot tho.

Very informative video. Gotta remember, supplements are literally called supplements for a reason, they're not needed for the majority of people.

For the massage gun, the most recent data show the percussion type doesn't have much benefits (except for feeling good), but the using the vibration type before a workout gives you a small, but significant boost.

I like your video and it would even be helpful if you can make a video on, "The Only Things You Need to Build an Aesthetic Physique", I can only afford creatine for my supplements, diy home equipments and just eat whatever food is available in the house, but I'm still aspiring to build an aesthetic physique with training hard and learning more, thank you🇵🇭

Possibly just anecdotal, but I’ve been having some nagging mild knee pain recently and decided to buy a compression sleeve yesterday. I wore it for several hours last night just to get used to it while I went to the gym, made dinner, etc. today I woke up to no knee pain at all. I’m gonna go ahead and keep it.

I bought a cheaper massage gun expecting it to break, but so far so good. It only feels good when using it which is likely a placebo effect, but I'll take a placebo when a migraine is coming on.

a hyper specific counterexample to compression not being effective is in the sport of sailing, more specifically in the ILCA class. You simply can not perform to modern standards without, as we call them, hiking pads. These hiking pads come in the form of fitted neoprene cylinders with carbon battens embedded in foam affixed to the bottom. While admittedly, these provide more than just compression, the compression they do provide seems to greatly benefit time overall power you can put into righting moment.

I have one of those smart scales, I may acknowledge it’s imperfection but I found it very consistent in tracking how my shape change (if I eat more and feel a little more chubby, the scale seems to trace it pretty good, or if I don’t drink enough the values changes ecc). So the percentage may be off in universal therms, (maybe I’m 14 % fat when the scale says 14.5) but in a relative prospective, the changes tracking seems to be pretty accurate, and I don’t really care about the super accurate scientific number, as long as the scale is off by max 1% (which I hope it is).
