Gold Smelting vs Gold Melting #GLOTD

Very misunderstood process, Gold Smelting. Smelting is a chemical reaction that happens in a molten metal environment. Gold melting is just changing the state of the metal from a solid to a liquid.

As a hobby level metal caster I HATED when people (especially my parents) mixed up melting and smelting. I’m casting aluminum that I’m recycling, I’m not conjuring it from rock!
