Always appreciate your take on everything. Makes sense to me why you chose pokemon center exclusive over regular etb. When I had the option to buy regular etb vs pokemon center exclusive at retail I chose pokemon center exclusive, so I guess that is my answer.

Great video and thanks for the breakdown. I appreciate you showing the diversity in your purchases, WHICH INCLUDES MODERN. Moral of the story seems to be buy low sell high

I live in Canada and my modern sealed products are all Pokémon center exclusive stuff. I also have a friend in Japan and he gets my Pokémon Japan purchases and ships them to me. I agree with your points on the Pokémon Center being a level playing field. I saw booster boxes of Chilling Reign selling for $80 USD on eBay from US sellers, but the lowest I can get it for in Canada is $119.99 + tax. That already puts me at a huge disadvantage, so that's why I don't invest in it.

I think modern sealed is a safe play, however I agree with Jake's point in that the Pokémon company is going to keep releasing new products that people will buy. I have to wonder who in 5 years is going to want to buy Battle styles off of someone for a premium?

Also on forums I see people just straight buying cases of boxes literally when they come out of the factory. Some people haven't learned that if I a set is in print for at least two years then chances are the prices of the set wont go up during that time aside from outliers like Evolving Skies, etc.

If I am holding something for 10 years I would take Vintage PSA 10 slabs over ultra modern sealed.

If I were an individual, non-business investor what would put me off is volume of products needed for significant and worthwhile profits. Also liquidity and all the logistics involved.

Great video, I think this helps outline what the average collector who's holding some product is really up against.

I like the idea of you talking about modern your buying more. Sucks when the big investment YouTube guys talk down on modern or don’t really mention it, but they are buying a lot of it.

This was a cool spreadsheet video, you should do more of these. Could you have gotten away with doing 12 and 12 of chilling reign & fusion strike (preferred imo) or did they force you to take battle styles?

Dan, Do you pay tax for Pokemon Center items? Is Nick ok? He has not been online in awhile? Just concerned. Maria

Which professional do I consult with to turn it into a business to not pay sales tax?

I think investing in modern is fine. Price point is more important than the age of the product. I think ultra modern product with a price point of $80-$90 is fairly safe.

As someone from Oregon I have to say it, its not Ore-gone its Ore-gun. 😄Ya i never really fully understand this topic. There are plenty of ways to make money in pokemon, modern and vintage and in-between you just have to put in the work buy at the right price and take your time. thanks again for the content Dan
