We discuss a 2009 study that looked at the effects of creatine supplementation on testosterone and DHT (dihydrotestosterone) levels in rugby players. The study found that after just 7 days of creatine loading, DHT levels increased by 56%. However, during the maintenance phase, DHT levels dropped to only 22% over baseline after 3 weeks. The study measured DHT in the blood, not the scalp where hair loss matters. The study was small, with only 20 participants, and the results have not been replicated in over a decade.
