A person commented this gem:

"I'm motivated by spite honestly. I refuse to let some soulless algorithm outdo me as a flesh and blood being with a mind and soul. I believe human artists are always superior because of that, and I'm not willing to give up. AI will never be the next Beksinski or Goya, but people like us can be"

I think it's a good mindset to have especially in these trying times. Spread the word, folks

As terrible as AI Art is right now, it's good to focus on what artists can bring to the table. The situation has brought me to reevaluate why I draw, and has pushed me to focus more on projects that push my limits and help me grow. I have heard it's doing the same for some others. Good video.

As someone who continues to commission artists and has studied art for over 20 years, I deeply resonate with the sentiment of this video. However, I think it underestimates thr pace at which the AI art generators and our interactions with them are evolving. These tools have gone from creating laughable, nightmarish constructs to pieces indistinguishable from that of a human artist and/or photographer in a relatively short period. Development is ongoing regarding how precisely we interact and interrogate these tools. I believe human created art will continue to have a space in the market. I think just like we have mass-produced clothes that can be bought cheaply, but also have handmade attire for significantly more. We will see mass generative art for very cheap, but human art will be valued for the high street market. (None of this to address Artist copyrights, just humanity's interaction with this emerging technology)

Honestly I will keep going with my own craft and continue improving my skills, I really don’t care how is AI going to really impact in the near future, whether it is going to replace us or not I will still continue to draw by hand because I fricking love it. Sure it is disheartening to see how AI creates insane artwork in seconds but I still keep going anyways, the process of crafting is what really makes it unique and you cannot go through the whole craft if you use AI.

Thanks for this video, this is probably one of the biggest concerns an artist has to face in the modern day

Rino Tuna is one of my absolute favorite artists and I bought his course as soon as I seen he started one back in September. I'm not finished and I keep rewatching the beginning to continue to improve the fundimentals of art before i get into advanced parts of his course.

Question: Can't artists sue AI developers for using their art without permission or payment in their machine learning cycles?

As a teen artist having done art for 6, 7 years now, it's terrifying that AI is taking over, I want to become a graphic designer or a general artist. But we shouldn't give up!

The art community is truly a prime example of all the good parts humanity still has left to offer.

Time and time again, artists persevere through all trials and tribulations even though we feel like giving up.

That's just pure goodness and wholesome ❤️

Seeing this video made me feel a lot at ease about this controversial topic of AI Art. It’s not something that I panic over, but it’s definitely a concern for me as an artist to possibly have my hard work entirely replaced by a software.
For me, I often make concept artworks based on songs, emotions & photographs. It’s more like I combine all these 3 elements mostly to create different kinds of concepts. I still have a long way to go, but I think that I’m on the right track by visualising my ideas through art, without relying on references too much

Lesson of the day: ai can't turn g-fuel into a hot himbo dude.

I appreciate the reminder to stay away from the noise and keep creating. It's easy to get caught up in the hype and fear and forget that the only way to overcome is to keep moving forward. Thank you for that.

Love this video, I've been kind of drowning myself in the AI stuff. But when I was toying around with it myself I did find myself being more mindful of my drawings (Since I crave some level of creative input that's just how it ended up being expressed), and it's really made me want to focus more on the stories I'm trying to tell, and learn the type of mindful designs you described in this video. Here's to 2023 and thanks for being such an inspiration

Yeah!!! Rino tuna humanizing random objects into awesome character designs, like once I saw him make a can of biscuits into a group of butlers and maids preparing a queen with the color scheme of the biscuits hahahha what a mad lad, I salute you good sir

Yes.! This is how you have to approach character design thses days. I've always loved the meaning and purpose behind behind character webs/maps that you show, Josh. Been doing a lot of the same methods recently and it's been such a great challenge for me.

This is something that is done in the book the art of dramatic writing where you get into the details for the Characters and the reason for their design. 👏🏿👏🏿.
Awesome video.

Rinotuna is one of my all time main inspirations! Growing up, I never had a role model to look up to but eventually I fell in love with his work! I bought his course back when Black Friday deal was going on (though I'd normally avoid these since it's so costly) but seeing so many people praise this course and him in particular I decided to take it and so far, i'm in absolute awe of how much information is packed inside this course! It may be a bit hard reading the subtitles and listening as he speaks in Korean and can be quite fast but still incredibly worth it!

Being a concept artist is my dream job, and honestly i'm terrified for the future of art because of AI. I don't want to let go of something I love due to it, and i'm sure many others feel the same.

I NEEDED THIS.

Most of my ideas are just sleep-deprived fever dreams driven by stress, frustration and a wild imagination trying to escape my circumstances.

I've never really *deliberately thought* about the designs of my ideas. I also love those charts from rinotuna you were showing us. I need a book on this stuff!
