Following up on last weeks OSRS magic gear progression guide. this is the second in a three part series on runescape gear progression. In this OSRS melee gear progression guide I will be taking you through an optimal upgrade strategy. due to the niched out nature of gear in OSRS this might not be 100% ideal for your exact playstyle. while there are a ton of different scenarios where you might want to use a different type of gear, I tried to be as general as possible.

Wow looks like I missed some stuff. Honestly the amount of stuff on screen was starting to freak me out. Here's some things I missed, adding to them as you AKCHULLY me in the comments:

Elder Maul - Massive upgrade, Massive pricetag. Straight up better than DWH in every way.
When you can spent 130m to replace it, DWH is in the bin for all content. IMO after scythe, before Torva would be a good spot, or even after soulreaper, then sell both to get scythe eventually.

Soulreaper - Apparently they changed how it works and the wiki didn't have that on there. Oops. Doesn't change where I would put it in the video tho, thing slaps either way.

Justiciar - very tanky, modest price. Is useful for afk stuff like trying to make a "how to afk x" video, or rune dragons. It can be used to brute force content you aren't good enough to do, or on day 1 when metas havent come out yet. As a Blorva owner with a massive ego and a tiny peen I wouldn't be caught dead wearing it. All jokes aside it's good for afking stuff, but don't use it as a crutch for not learning content like the inferno.

Prayer gear - I was originally going to have a prayer gear section on here, but it didn't fit in well with the whole GP based upgrading, and felt kinda weird when I tried to put it on the end of the video. Anyways, get it, use it. It's good for saving restores.

Tormented synapse and the new TD claws - I usually dont put brand new items into videos. They're too likely to change them + prices are unstable.

Getting a fire cape, barrows gloves, and fighter torso before dragon boots is MENTAL. Just buy the damn boots first. They're like 100k

obsidian armor set effect with the sword and berserker necklace is a huge overlook for the mid game

Worth noting: soulreaper got a big qol update recently so that the stacks degrade more slowly and you don't lose them all if you switch weapons to spec. Same power but feels a lot better to use now

i almost did this exactly while earning gold except i got my bandos chest and tassets right before voidwaker/dclaws. expensive just for defense upgrade and no extra strength but i loved it during slayer grind and vorkath. Anyways i love all your videos and your format for gear progression is the best on youtube. id love to see a PvM bible type video from you like the one gnomemonkey made. i feel like its right up your alley and you would be able to deliver more information from your angle. I slept on Inq + Mace for a long time because the Wiki rarely lists in on strategy pages, but it absolutely slaps in a lot of places, especially if you don’t have Torva yet. It’s even almost as good as Scythe/SRA at Vard (a slash boss) pre-Torva for a lot less money. Probably going to slap Araxxor, too, when that’s out.

You can buy Warrior's ring early game. It's cheap and has good stats.
