Every time I see a shortsword being able to attack in any direction, it makes me so happy! It was awful when you could only attack horizontally originally.

In line with how many of the best "melee" weapons are actually just projectile weapons, I like how Calamity (and probably some other mods, I'm just most familiar with Calamity) provides a variety of "True Melee" weapons that try to compensate for the lack of projectiles with other stats like insane dps and lifesteal. It makes it feel like you're actually playing melee while also making it more rewarding.
