I can't even do any of these things because Steam thinks I have a Switch controller plugged in. I don't own a Switch. My generic Xbox-style controller is unplugged. Steam in Big Picture Mode is behaving like I have a controller plugged in and I'm just holding down left on the d-pad or the left stick - I can't use the mouse to navigate or click on any menu option.

I've got everything turned off, disabled, reset, etc. Each day when I start Steam, something is different from the way I left it. I spend an hour troubleshooting and going in circles just to play a game for ten minutes. This is one of the worst user experiences I've had.

If anyone knows an actual, real solution I would love to hear it. It really seems like the best move is to not patronize Steam from now on. Games I paid good money for are unplayable thanks to Steam.

hi bro, i realy need your help, i hope you'll see this comment. i once used ds4windows and my wireless (fake) ps4 controller perfectly worked, until i tried using it on gta. i saw a tutorial which said that i had to used inputmapper, it also worked but the delay was TOO high so i decided to uninstall it and use back ds4, but it doesnt recognize back my controller. even my pc used to don't recognize it but i kinda fixed it, or at least i tought because once i opened steam in big picture to play efootball 2023 (it used to work before using inputmapper) it now doesnt read my controller. i tried everything, literally, but it doesnt work anymore. could you please help me? i really need u. greetings <3

Works on cod but when I play halo steam doesn’t detect my controller and I’ve tried everything makes no sense lmao

I tried multiple methods guys. If nothing is working the only fix is to uninstall and reinstall windows, that's what worked for me.
