Man I use to get in trouble for not participating in the gossip. It was damned if I do and damned if I don't. I have many stories. I even lost a bonus one year because of something someone "said about me that hurt my bosses feelings". I found out a year later when my boss was drunk and he decided to vomit this info. WOW just WOW.

Workplace gossip is pretty much a given. Great tips for how to try and avoid the gossip or if you can't...at least don't spread it. Gossip can definitely create conflict or hurt your reputation. As you said, best just to avoid it.

Man I used to be this person, looking back at it- it made my workplace toxic. I decided to adapt a new mindset going into a new job, that being less chatty and more responsible. Turns out, the people I work with are exactly like this. I ignore, I hm’n, I nod and I don’t respond and I still have no idea why people even talk to me ab dumb fucking gossip. I’m not interested, I don’t even show an interest. Do you have any tips on what to say? Even my HR director is like this.. it’s so embarrassing
