Weird INSANE SEX Lives Of Inuit Eskimos

We know that they live in igloos and exchange caresses with their noses, but what else does the sex life of the Eskimos entail? The term Eskimo is sometimes considered offensive or an excessive generalization and concerns the people living in the Arctic, Siberia, North America, and Greenland. People from certain tribes residing in the mentioned regions are often called Eskimos. In their culture, there is very open sexuality, which is not so unusual for people who are organized in a tribal way. Like the Mongols or the Romans, there is also a woman exchange among them, which is a reflection of hospitality, although it often included certain shamanistic rituals. The lewd side of Eskimo life developed as a result of their contacts with the white man.

I'm from Alaska and spent years living in the villages. I have friends that are Inuit and Yupik (Southern Eskimos). They still exchange children but in modern times their sex practices are no different than whites. Perhaps it was different 100 years ago. One thing to keep in mind is the villages on the coast were about 30 miles apart. A man could paddle 15 miles in a kayak, kill something then bring it home to eat. They Inuit also lived right on the edge of the ecosphere and the villages would usually only have about 30 people at most. The village populations never really got any bigger than this before the white man arrived due to cold, starvation, disease, death during child birth, polar bears, etc. So finding someone who wasn't related to you to marry was a real problem for the Inuit; an interesting explanation of why they share wives might be for broadening the gene pool even though Neolithic peoples had no concept of genetics. When you travel to the small villages you will hear government paid announcements about not committing incest, apparently this is a problem. Modern life has been very hard on their culture. The men have no purpose anymore since most things are given to them thru government grants or thru the native corporations. Drugs, alcohol, tobacco and suicide are common. Even with these problems the are some of the friendliest, giving and non-judgmental people I have ever met. I've never met an Inuit that I didn't like.

I'm Yup'ik and want to comment on one minor detail. The "Eskimo Kiss" isn't done by rubbing noses. Instead, you press your nose to someone's cheek. The harder or longer you engage in the gesture indicates a stronger relationship. The same way you would briefly hug an acquaintance, but would share a longer, more intimate hug with your best friend. :)

The moral of the story, do whatever you can to keep warm when you live in the Arctic.

Nothing strange about all this sexuality ...we do that in the US all the time. We are just hypocritical about it.

Inuit is the name the people use for themselves, it translates as “the people". Eskimo is a derogatory term used by some Americans and is considered offensive by many Canadian Inuit. It means “raw meat eaters”.

He states "Eskimo is an offensive term", then continues to call them "Eskimos"!

As i said before, this video is completely nonsensical. It is clearly not based on any decent research and surely does not reflect the current situation. These guys have never even seen an “eskimo”, be it Inuit or Yupik or even Aleut!

The Inuit are circumpolar and speak a common language with local dialects. The Inuit group known as the Polar Eskimos were located in a very isolated part of Greenland and this group thought they were the only people in the world. The difference of one seal or other sea mammal could mean the difference between life or starvation. The Inuit also had the largest tool kit in the world, consisting of up to 500 different tools, If one Inuit was causing problems for the band, it was up to the immediate family to handle it, usually by killing him. Just some facts I learned in college from someone that lived and studied the Inuit. Keep in mind that almost all Inuit described in the video and by me was when contact was first made with these amazing people. Also, I am working off of direct memory, and learned these things a long time ago. Go to your library and request "Nanook of the North", an early silent movie done in the early 1900's, about life in an Inuit family. Highly recommended! The most fascinating people that ever existed, IMO.

They do what is best for them according to their situation. And we often judge others based on our criteria.

I wondered where the phrase “Eskimo brothers” came from.

If you don't know the father of your child then it's impossible to prevent incestuous relationships when your child is of age
