How to Move or Transfer a Domain Name from GoDaddy to New Account Host (Google Domains)

In this video I go over how to transfer a domain name from GoDaddy to Google Domains. This is a simple and easy process.

You want to make sure that your domain name is ready to be moved, so it must be unlocked.

Once unlocked you'll have the authorization code.

Pass the code along to the new host and follow the steps at your registrar.

Make sure to confirm the transfer on the backend of your account to speed up the delivery process to minutes when transferred to new host, Google Domains

Hi Mike, great video and very useful.
The tip at the end of your video was excellent and worked.
For me, on my GoDaddy’s account page - on my Transfers page, it took 5 minutes or so for the domain to show there, once there, I was able to select it and approve the transfer. It then transferred over within 10 minutes all done. Thanks

Just tried to follow the steps, but I registered the domain on Godaddy only a few days ago and it says that I cant transfer it for 60 days. Is there any way around? Thanks.

My Godaddy account is not showing a pending transfer and I submitted the request 2 days ago.

the problem with anything google, even gmail, is zero support, no phone contact, nothing, no matter how critical. food for thought.
